For the past few weeks i have to power cycle in order to get my connection back. anyone know of a fix for this? I know they are limiting peoples download to 250 gigs but i don't think that's the problem.

Do you use a router? Some routers can get overheated from persistent connections, and have to be power cycled so they function again.

Call them and ask what models are supported. Any cable modem should do though. With comcap, if you dont buy it yourself, its like 5 bucks a month to 'rent'.

Buy a SB5100 series. You can get one used for around $50. That should fix your problem.

I would get a 5120 since it has extra memory and won't suffer the buffer issues associated with torrenting.

The Cox cable guy said that cox is phasing out the surfboards because of issues.....May be a bad splitter, small cut in the cable... keep bitching and a guy will come out... The new modem i got was about 40 bucks... You can also go to dslreports.com, they got a forum based on ISP's and some tech people on there can help to..
