Keep your eye on Office Max and Office Depot.

They are always having these weird one day sales.

I just got 200 (2x100, limit two per household) CD-Rs for $10.

After rebates, of course.

I'll probably be dead before the rebate checks show up.

Of course.

It's the shipping that's gonna get ya.

Surely NYC has office supply superstores of some kind?

I'd say keep checking in BEST BUY. Almost every week or very often they have 50packs or 100packs on sale and after a great rebate u get them for like 2-3 bucks.

You fill out a 30 page form, and send it in. They send you back a check.

Definately. I have, sitting on my desk over 250 blank CD-Rs that I either got for free at a rebate sale at best buy or I paid 2 dollars for 50. The only thing I had to do is fill out my name and address information and send it in.

Best buy makes it easy to get back your rebate, where stores such as Office max make it MUCH more difficult to get your rebates because they make you write so small and jump through burning hoops to get your money back.

I also got a 120 GB western digital caviar drive for $80 after rebates. I always look every Sunday for rebate sales...
