get mozilla or opera :D Instant large speed up.

By the way this is the tips section about Kazaa Lite so you're not supposed to ask for tips especially about non-Klite progs.
I'm sure a mod will be good enough to move it to software world

Also check out Mozilla Firebird if you want some serious speed and MyIE2 which is a much faster and enhanced version of IE.

I think you are looking for a program that will change your MTU and TTL values for your connection. Tweaking IE won't really make it any faster but you can set your home page to use a blank page, which will open IE a little faster.

Go to Download.com (http://download.com) and look for a program that will speed up your internet connecton. Some good ones are Tweakmaster 1.7, Web Optimizer 3000 3.01 and Internet Turbo 2003 5.4.

The programs I listed above do the same except that you don't have to mess with the registry. All you usually do is tell if you want a feature on or off and sometimes you can enter custom values, for example your MTU.

This is not P2P related but a very usful tip.
Before you start, for any n00bs out there modifiying you registry can result in * up your PC. Do not try this unless you are confident you know what you are doing.

1. run regedit from the command prompt in windows.

2. navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Internet Settings.

3. Have a look in the right-hand window and see if there are two strings named MaxConnectionsPerServer and MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server. Double click on the strings to change the value. If they are not there go to step 5.

4. Change as follows
MaxConnectionsPerServer = 6
MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server = 8
[Finished]

5. If the strings are not there you will have to create them. Right-click in the right hand side of the window where all the strings are and select New>DWORD Value.

6. Enter MaxconnectionsPerServer as the string name and hit [Enter].
7. Do the same again but instead call the string name MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server.

8. Go to step 4.

Hope this makes sense. If in doubt ASK, I will gladly help.
If anyone wants me to explain how this speeds up I.E. I will write another post explaining. Defalt=4-4both

is this it i got it here.

Make your homepage "about:blank" (click the 'use blank' button). That is going to speed up the loading of Internet Explorer.

That will make it start faster when you first run it, but Shareholder's tip makes every page load faster.

BTW, you can also use a local html file stored on your hard drive as your home page, rather than a site on the net. That'll make it start faster, too.
