CRTs are the best for gaming supposedly..due to faster refresh rates...if you got the money..get a sony trinitron...NOTHING beats it..there GORGEOUS...plus flat screen..NOT flat pannel...flat screen...make sure u get flat screen good luck and have fun

Trinitron is aperture grill.

Anyway, this was discussed a while back.

Here is a closeup view of the two technologies.

Aperture grill will look better but it's more expensive.

Arpeture grill all the way. Sony FD Trinitron is the highest quality CRT you can get for a decent price. Not many will argue that one... B)

I run 1024X768 at 120 hertz. No eye strain at all, baby...While gaming, I tend to lower to 85 hertz.

A tip for those of you with CRT's: find the drivers for your monitor and install them through device manager after extracting to the desktop...you will be able to raise the refresh rate safely and reduce eye strain, while improving image quality too.
:D

Depends on your budget - AG is quite expensive, but it's almost flat, and flat is good - if you look around REALLY hard you can find shadowmask monitors that are come close to being flat but are fairly cheap
