I have some stuff that I want to encrypt so that the user can only read the files. He can't burn them or copy them. How do I do that? And does it work for burned images?

im not quite sure what you want to do but if your trying to protect your website just disable right click this will orevent people casually saving hte iages but it is still possible.

you can also set the attributes of a file to read only in windows but you can still view or burn the image if someone wanted.

no, no. Say i want to distribute a file via cd or something, and when he receives it, i want to make sure that he can't copy the file in any way. like how moviecentral and those music services work

i would look into the dos attrib command and see if there is anything there that can help you protect these files.

i have also seen a few utilites that report filesize information wrong for protected cds which prevents copying.

but for the life of me i cant remember its name. :(
