Ello, whats 10Mbps. i guess its an internet connection speed. With broadband i can get around 60k downloads. Would would i get with that? Im think its more suitable for webservers but i cud be wrong. ;)

I may be missing something here but that makes no sense at all.

I'm on dialup and connect at 49333kbs, if you connect at 10mbs then a what is 60k??...............60kbs??

i think 60kb, wid freeserve broadband. lets put it like this:

1 GB RAM
80 GB Hard Drive / 7200 RPM
Un-metered 10 mbps Network Connection! Un-metered 10 mbps Network Connection!

how much monthly bandwidth cud i get wid this? :ph34r:

you will get 10 mbps over the netowrk and 60 k a second from the internet.

have a home network shoul dnot speed up or slow down your internet conection.

a t1 is not 10Mbps its 1.5Mbps

a t3 is 44mbps or something like that.

what i think ur looking (IMHO i oculd be wrong) at is the window at the bottom right of your desktop, those 2 tv screens that flash blue, THAT is the speed of your NETWORK card NOT you internet speed

he has his nic card set at 10mbs or 10 megabytes per second . he has his nic card configured wrong or he has a old nic card that can go only 10mbs!. if his cards is a 10/100 mbs he needs to reconfigure it and if he does have a T! line he needs a 1gbs nic card to get the full potential out of the T-1 line!. :(

erm no.

a 10/100 nic card only running at 10 is way faster than a t1 line.

10/100 is LAN speed not internet speed

In theory you can have 10*10nic cards plugged into a 100mbps hub or router and given them full equal bandwidth.

but having a 100nic card/router can not supply full bandwidth to 10*100nic cards for that you would need the 1gbps nic card.

Since a T1 line is only 1.5mbps then having a 10mbps nic card wont mean anything. the only time you need higher is for LAN games or transferring data to all machines or your machine is serving as the gateway to the internet and people connect to you via a hub rather than directly to the dsl/cable router

1 gig ram = nothing
80gb hdd = nothing
10 mbps LAN = nothing

getting 60k on downloads = 512adsl or cable

daily download maximum of 3-5gigs, thats approx 112gigs per month
