I'm thinkign of switching to avg from norton but I just have one quick question. does avg automatically scan files while downloading them like norton does? Norton has saved my butt a few time when dling off kazaa cause it catches virii during the download process. thanks.

AVG is by far the best virus checker... ( just my opinion ) but AVG has never let me down

thats reassuring. I never had a prob with norton, but I hear avg will catch stuff that norton misses.

My 2 cents. I've used both Norton (resource hog) & AVG (infrequent virus updates). Right now I'm using NOD32 as resident AV & Kaspersky Pro as non-resident AV. Thats the best combo for me.

Personally i think using 2 antivir at the same time is not a good idea. What goo is a anti vir if u have to use another one to be safe... Dunno Avg is good but dont like the 7 verision.. never had a virus with it .. so it worked . But I think norton beats it. Do same thing as i did -- install Norton Corporate edition and dont wory about anything.. Plus think about it -- does Big campusses and college campuses rely on some cheap ass anti vir -- no. And all they use is Norton (most of them) -- it does the job ezcellently. U know how to get it.

cheers.

Course I don't use 2 AV's at the same time. One is resident (always on) & the other is non-resident (on-demand).

I like AVG better.. using both would be extremely bad for system resources and memory. I found that using norton, it is a system hog. While avg is not as much.
