Pretty funny topic, this... I do see seedhost on these forums regularly and have had decent reply-times as well on mail (pre-sales, that is).

I do hope that any issues between the company and current customers can be resolved in a decent manner

I agree that their support isn't the greatest.

Speeds with them are alright though, well up until a few days ago at least. I've only been getting 300 KB/s max upload speed lately.

Umm, I hope I'm not in the wrong for dragging up this old thread, but it was the only thread related to seedhost.net and I was hesitant about creating a new one since this already existed.

I signed up with them earlier today, opened a ticket querying how long set up would be, and still have not received a response.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them and so on?

Dunno yasiri but depending on where you are based and they are based, you could safely say it is/was a Sunday and replies/setups might be non-existent.

response sent, on weekends the response time is little higher, by the way the setup time is 12h-72h.

My account got activated today, however atm I can only download via ftp. Does anyone who's with seedhost.net know how to download via HTTP?

FransTormer
05-20-2009, 06:41 PM
Depends on your config. If you got uTorrent + WebUI, you can't download using HTTP.

If you got Torrentflux, you can download from the built-in filemanager (a.k.a. read the manual or click some on your screen).

/edit: and no, I'm not working for seedhost but based my reply on the configs on their site.

Umm, I was told before I purchased the seedbox that I would be able to download via both HTTP and FTP on the seedbox I currently have. I've got uTorrent + WebUI btw. I asked them via. E-Mail earlier today, however have got no response, and kind of needed an answer asap.

Thanks anyway though FransTormer ^^

he can have http downloads with uTorrent aswell, he is having dedicated server, so we can just have apache running with www dir as his /downloads dir instead with http authentication,

yasiri, have mailed you with an questions about vnc port your requested.

Dear Barkan05,
your ticket has been procceed and everything is fixed, this 36h delay is caused of the running Holiday at our country called "Shavuot" this is why we are low on staff,

I've only been with them for about a week, but so far I'm happy with the service. They setup my account within 24 hours, so I was happy with that. I'm just on one of the basic shared server plans, but the speeds have been amazing! I've seen downloads speeds of 10MB/s+ and upload speeds of 4MB/s+, which have done wonders for my ratios on private torrent sites.

I submitted a support ticket concerning FTP, which they answered promptly, but I'm really disappointed with FTP speeds. I've tried Filezilla, SmartFTP, FlashFXP and Firefox's FireFTP and can only get speeds of 5Kb/s, which is pretty useless. I have a fast connection too, I can usually download at around 225Kb/s. That said, seedboxes are intended for seeding. That's why I got it and for that purpose, it's superb!

I would recommend Seedhost.net:)

Well you decided to get refund after 8 hours from order, even though our TOS states 7 Days setup time ( wich is actually much faster within 12h-72h) , so we did refund you as you requested, enjoy your new provider.

Well it seems like I'm having major problems with them too. I've logged MULTIPLE tickets... suddenly I can't access seedhost.net - neither am I able to get to my torrent interface - files don't download through FTP, etc.

I'm a bit sick and tired of all the excuses and the regular 'is has been fixed' message, and in the meantime nothing has been fixed!

Is this a regular occurance?!

Yeah my box is down and I can't access anything right now. Sent them a ticket 8 hours ago and no response. This seems to happen once a week with them where something goes down for some reason. I don't know why but seedhost.eu is never down as much as these guys are.

My shared seedbox with them has been down for about 36 hours. The best part was that earlier this morning their entire website was inaccessible for a while as well. If you're gonna go down I guess you might as well go all the way!

It is fine to have problems, but it is unacceptable to not even reply on any tickets, not to post ANY UPDATES regarding the state of the servers, etc. Just weird how this happened 2 days after I renewed for another 30 days.

PS. Going for 5 days off-line on the seedbox!

Wow, five days. I'm glad mine hasn't been down that long. But I only signed up last weekend and have had about as much downtime as uptime for my box. What I don't get is that the server doesn't seem to be completely offline as I plugged the hostname into this website: http://www.opendns.com/support/cache/ and every single cache returns the same (and apparently) valid ip address. I would think that if the server was offline then it wouldn't show up at all. But I'm not a networking guru and could be totally wrong in this case. But I would be very interested to see if anyone else with a seedhost box sees the same type of result I did.

jelipesp, let me know how the Paypal dispute goes as i may have to take that route myself. But I remember reading on here somewhere that someone goes denied a refund by Paypal because the seedbox was considered a "virtual" item and there was no way to prove delivery of the service.

jfelipesp
09-27-2009, 01:47 AM
well, yah it is a "virtual" item...

although you can prove that the item is not delivery bt taking screen shots of failed attempts to acces the server either through FTP, VNC or Web UI. despite the fact that the service it self is "virtual", the machine where it's located is phisical and hence you can't access it you cannot get your "virtual" item.

I don't think I'll see my 12 Euro back, but it's the principle that counts - not the loss of 12 Euro!

My server is down as well. Their loss, my bill is due tomorrow and since I haven't heard anything and still can't access my server, my business will be taken elsewhere. No point in paying 88euro for shotty support.

Seems there must be a major issue if this many people are having the same problem at the same time. Good luck running a decent business with this type of support, I know many people (from many sites) who use resellers and I will for sure be telling them to go elsewhere.

I believe that there is a major issue behind this all lol.

but like others said no matter what the hell happened leaving customers without answers for days is amazingly stupid for your own bussiness.

I my self, ordered a dedicated server from KeyWeb, i'll build my own Torrent Box there, let's see what goes on hehehe

Is there a major issue, or is it just sheer coincidence that so many people suddenly have gotten problems accessing their seedboxes, etc. etc. etc. ---- makes you wonder, doesn't it.

Well...
Only major thing hapenning latelly that could be slightly involved with is the law France parliament passed nearly 2 weeks ago.

I think I need to file a Paypal dispute as well before it gets too late. How are you others describing the problem when filling the form out? I guess we also need to hope that the person/people behind seehost have money in their account or we will never get a refund of any kind.

Well, i believe the other side having money or not is their(paypal) problem , not ours. i believe if we are entitled the money Paypal will refund it regardless

I basically just explained that I didn't get the service I paid in advance for, as well as no correspondence via logged tickets nor email. I included the ticket numbers to paypal. Good luck!

Please keep us posted as to what's going on!

I know several people who have OVH, both directly and through resellers. They aren't having the same issue. My guess is that this guy decided to take our money and run. Each server going down idividually is probably from him not having paid OVH.

Luckily I only missed out on the last couple days since my cycle was running out. Probably why he invoiced me earlier than usual.

Actually OVH.com or OVH.co.uk is their primary website.

Still doesn't change the fact that everyone else I know, 10-15 people, who are using OVH resellers and straight from OVH/Kimsufi (kimsufi is where he's reselling them from) aren't having any issues.

subject Downtime

Dear Joao Felipe Pinto,

Due to billing issue from the side of OVH, about 70 servers were shut down this weekend by them and they refuse to admit their mistake, after a long conversation with their staff all servers should be up by tomorrow afternoon, we are sorry for any inconveniance caused, and we are sorry for the unanswered tickets, we just didn't expect to handle that amount in the weekends and we are trieng our best to answer each of them now,

once all servers will be back online, each of our customers will get individual compensation for the downtime caused,

we are sorry for the inconveniance and we will do our best to prevent such issue in the future,

Fahredin Issacov

I got the same email about two hours ago. Great, this means that they will tell Paypal the exact same thing and we will probably never get a refund. I guess time will tell whether we actually get the servers back tomorrow or whether our money is gone and the people behind the site are just trying to buy time for themselves.

i'm terminating my services with them either way...

If it was just a billing mistake, the servers would be back up. He's trying to cover for messing up. No way I'm renewing, and am advising everyone I know to go elsewhere.

So am I. I just want my damn money back and not a credit from them towards service that I no longer want. People might not be so ticked off if there had been some kind of communication about what was going on. But to stay silent for a week or more while nothing is working is totally unacceptable. Which is sad because when my seedbox was up I got really decent speeds and was quite happy. I'm far from happy right now.

I got the same email but luckily I have not been using there server though so I can't comment on it. I switched to another provider earlier. Not that I would expect compensation of any kind. When I canceled my server previously, they mentioned they had no way of giving me a refund. So i did way with them in short order. It was a day after the server was oredered and the server had not even been setup yet.

look pal...

it could be running for 10 years... if the support/owner simply disappear for 6 days leaving tickets unanswered everywhere what do you want ppl to think ?? "Oh it's OK, we pay, we don't get the support nor we get the boxes we pay... but that's fine. let's trust the poor little guy..."

IMHO if he can't handle the amount of servers he has on his hands... how can we trust again ?!?

the only thing he could've done at LEAST was to issue a mass e-mail at the 1st sight of an issue. which i didn't ... i could less if it was over the weekend... the issues started happening on thursday and ended up affecting everyone over the weekend

My seedbox still isn't back yet. Here is their copy and paste response to all four of my trouble tickets "Dear Customer,
Main server is still down, and will be up within 12hours, we will let you know once fixed, and also will provide you compensation once fixed, sorry for the inconveniance."

For those that have access again, what is your server number? Mine is ks1028.seedhost.net, I wonder if they are going in numerical order to restore them.

This is the biggest load of crap I have ever heard! It's now about 9 days that all service is OFF FOR MY BOX! I've since went and switched to a different provider. My server was ks1008 - it is still down. I don't care about getting 'refunded with server time'. I want my money. This is blatant stealing.

If you have any more problems that cause people to go offline could you post an update here instead of waiting 3 or 4 days and sending a mass email instead? I think people would have been a lot less upset at being in the dark if we had some idea of what was going on.

seedhost-net

You are right, there was a delay in the communication because the issue happend during weekend when there was little staff in office and they had to answer tickets and to solve the issue, the priority was to solve the issue as fast as possible, however FST is not our Help Desk or Anouncment desk, we did send a mass email as soon as we could.

Then could you use your own suggestion and post an announcement to that part of you website as well as sending a mass email? Its just that there are many ways of communicating with your customers and I know that looking at a company's website would certainly be something I would check if there were any issues. And personally I think the big mess last week would have certainly qualified for even a quick post and then an update or two later on when things were back online.

The last post I see there: http://www.seedhost.net/members/announcements.php
is from back in August.

I ordered my dedicated server thursday 4 days ago, and i have not got any email from them. i also filled out two tickets and no email from them or reply

Their site claims 24/7 REAL Support
Within 24 hours setup

i paid them on Thursday and i still dont have my server i PAID for. i see seedhost.net is apart of this site and i hope at least i could get contact with him or her. since they did go on this site yesterday. since it seems the only way to contact them

i also hope that i get reimbursed the days that i dont have my server i would like to my month to start when i get my service.

I've been with these for over a year now, and I've not got a bad thing to say about them. If I've ever had any problems the team have always sorted it out (maybe not instantly, but it always got sorted) and they even extended my payment date one month when I had no money to renew. Speed and reliability are also superb.

I only have the minimum option as below, but it's great for what I use It for. I highly recommend If you need a ratio boost etc etc.
