"This program needs work, and lots of it!"
The 2003 was generally a very "smooth" program, despite some problems. This 2004 version needs serious work!!!

Great except for..."
Installed it on XP Pro and my boot time has gone up from 1 min 35 secs to 4 mins 5 secs ???? why is this ???? Norton'll have to sort this out or they'll lose market share.

WASTE OF MONEY
Slowed system to a crawl. WindowsXP slowed in both bootup and operation. Boot time 4 minutes returns to normal after uninstall. Useless and a waste of money. Activation is a disaster. It took three re-boots to finally get it to work.

IT BLOWS MCAFEE AWAY!
THIS IS THE BEST ANTI-VIRUS PROGRAM I HAVE EVER HAD, AND THE RE-SUBSCRIPTION FEE IS ONE OF THE CHEAPEST, MCAFEE'S IS 39.99 FOR VIRUS SCAN ONLINE, AND NORTONS IS 16.99, BASICALLY HALF THE PRICE, AND SUPPORT IS AMAZING! I WOULD RECOMMEND TO ALL, BEGGINNER OR PROFESSIONAL! PRAISE SYMANTEC!

  bad news
kills speed of computer.even with a 1.2gig it takes forever. also took three trys to finally download.email help not too swift either.

Problem with non admin account
Installed ok on XP Pro, but all family accounts with non admin gets a pop up error. Wanting admin rights to configure

easy to use"

Slow and will cost you dearly!
I was extremely disapointed with this latest version. I was summond to one of my clients sites that was having considerable trouble. Network intermittantly shows disconnect in W2K, Backup software extremely slow, approx. 10% of normal throughput, CDRom installs fail as Data path is no longer available, MSIEXE files errors when installing, just too many othe problems that all dissapear with 2004 removal. I am a good fan of the norton products, and 2003 AV along with AVG and Kasperski are the major tools in our kit. I was convinced this client had an infection or corruption of the NTFS files system and spent some 6-8 hours to prove beyond any dought that the NAV2004 was the cause. Hardware is full Intel chipset 2.4Ghz, running 512Mb DDRam, W2K Pro, Gigabyte 8IPE1000 mainboard, Seagate Baraccuda hard drives. All pataches and security updates in place. This software needs URGENT REVIEW by the developers.

It was easy to use."
It initally slowed the computer down slightly, but after accessing it from the desktop, it worked fine. It was very easy to use. It already blocked a virus.

Doesn't slow down the computer"
Numerous people have posted that it slowed down their computers, didn't install properly, activation is a pain, etc. NAV installed flawlessly, doesn't slow the computer at all and activation was automatic and a no brainer. Doesn't conflict with anything I have. Does a deeper scan than previous versions.

"
"The real PC defender"? Stops every think… It stops all the virus, suspicious actions, e.t.c… it’s really cool...? And most important, it stops your computer to work anymore…!
function same as any other anti-virus software, although its more stable than other software

slow the computer down heaps do n't load it

Whats New????"
well i dont think it is worth buying norton 2004 cos the only thing you are getting is the 2004 lable. ok, there is some new features like adware and spyware detection but you can download stuff to remove that for free, plus you get something called keylogger or sumin like that. if i was you i would stick with 2003 and wait till the 2005 product. the 2005 is ment to be totally differnt with like at least 10+ new great features!

The real PC defender"
Its really cool... Your Pc could never get a virus again if u download all the updates. It stops all suspicious actions that viruses usually do... But maybe it shouldn't have been so pricy

Stick with 2003..."
Don't pay all that cash out for 2004 cause it really isn't that much of an upgrade. It's a waste of money if you buy it.

Good but what is new .?????"
This is exactly same as norton 2003 except maybe slight interface change. The activation is to prevent piracy. All those complaining seem to be used to pirated software. Well don't expect a company to keep giving you protection if all you use is a pirated copy. I bought the software but am disappointed as there is no change over norton 2003 which i had bought just a few months back. I did get an upgrade discount but on installation, and it installed flawlessly,i realise it's nothing new but a slight interface cosmetic change. Seems like Symantec wanted to push up sales just by introducing a new product anticipating that diehard norton fans would buy a new version anyway.Well i bought it the first day without even a trial but am let down as it has nothing new to offer. I'd suggest all who have norton 2003 to stick with it and you really don't need to buy this till you are full of funds and really want to tell others that i have the latest.

Dissappointed bloatware, even with my p4 2GHz!"
My machine became so slow that i can't work!..it's fine with NAV2003 until i install this version...it's annoyin and i'm really dissappointed bcoz i'll been using Norton for quite some time now... another problem wth norton is the fact that it's the no.1 antivirus...if your computer infected with a virus prior to install norton..u are in bad luck as the software jus wont install..no thank to the smart virus writer who somehow target to stop installation of norton in their virus code...it happen to me, i finally install a really unknown viruscan to get rid of the virus before installing norton antivirus??!! another quirk which i hated so much is the eyecandy interface..it's not unfriendly, but it's unstable as compare to the no-fuss-plain-default-windows-standard application interface...the last thing we need for a security software is a nice yummy interface which is like some "html-based" thingy that prone to crash or stop workin when some scripts doesn't run ??...just look at the new nero6 interface..neat and clean..it's still nice with those xp icons but the menu all is still the reliable window interface.... sad to say, i've just switch to pc-cillin ... Average Product.. Activation sucks"
This product slows your pc down. I hate the new activation.. Will have to pass this one by and look for an alternate to purchase.

DOES NOT INSTALL PROPERLY"
I tried installing this program.. and first of all.. i cant find it in my files when i do a file scan.. and second of all.. a warning popped up when i tried installing it saying it cant continue cause of some files corrupted.. forget this prog.. doesnt work

Good but,"
Product Activation is horrible. I hope they come to their sense and remove it, because I really like NAV.

So ,the percent is 29%+ 71%- Think about if you want to install the new NAV.

Most of the people who post there are utter neanderthals! Half can't tell a bit from a byte and post idiotic opinions on what they think is wrong with the software, when merely they're incapable of using it! Some jerk thought Shareaza installed spyware, but occasionally somebody will post an intelligent commend which will only total to 0.00001% of the votes.

It slows down your computer a lot. I'll stick to my corporate edition, plus NOD32 as a non-resident backup scanner.

I use 2004 Professional and I found it not be a "resource-hog", despite the fact that I only have 256MB PC133 SDRAM. But whenever I virus-scan, I'm not at the PC anyway, I normally go away and watch TV, it takes half-an-hour tops to virus-scan.

Talking about not paying, lol.

Anyone have a :) "REAL" :) serial # for Norton Anti-Virus 2004 Professional which is 30 characters long.. . All of the keys i have tried are only 29. But note that i got my version of NAV2004PRO off K-Lite without using your Sig links (because i dont know how to use them :( ) Will the 29 Character keys work with the posted version??

Thanks,
