Check that out, it's using over 1 million memory?? WHAT THE FU*K?? I only have 4 tabs open... This is a new machine, quad core with 4gb ram... wtf??

SHould I change browsers? I know ff has some memory leak issues which they say they are working on but ffs.... that's just taking the piss. And it's not like it shoots up then down, it's even been higher than that.

ANy tips?

Now that is weird
Try to clean your register perhaps (solves 99% of all my problems) :P

Also, could you please edit out FTN's full url and name? thank you.

Crap forgot about that. All done. Done registry mate, doesn't work. When I close/reopen it goes down to about 130k which is ok. But after 30-60 mins It will rocket up to 800-1.700.000 its facking nuts...

Thank you.

Well I'm not an expert at solving problems, but you could always try to reinstall firefox.

Thing is on my old machine it used to run @ 700k. I only installed it 2 days and I dont use many add ons. Just 1 theme and adblock plus. I thought 700k was a lot, and on my old machine the fan would go like crazy. this machine is still quiet but it shouldn't be running at 1.7 million surely.

thanks for the replies m8.

maybe clean your temp cache? seems like some script is running.
Tools > Clear Private Data
or
Ctrl Shift Delete
or
use crap cleaner (http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/)

Do you use Flashblock (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/433)? Hi memory usage in Firefox is often a result of Flash.
It has some serious memory leak issues that can add up fast across all the sites that run Flash ads.

Flashblock prevents Flash from automatically loading. You can whitelist sites like Youtube where you actually use the Flash.
