Well, if you really aren't picky, there's always good old Hotmail. ;)

What's the problem with Yahoo mail I.am?

Sure their site sucks but the mail service is great. I've had the same account for over two years and never get any spam, mind you i'm careful who i give my address to. The free account has 5mb (compared with hotmails 1 mb) of storage, pop access and great spam filters. I recommend it.

Actually, Hotmail has 2 megs. Just thought I'd point that out. ;)

Actually, while i'm hear. I hope shn doesn't mind me asking in his(/her? :P ) thread. What's the best email account, including those you have to pay a membership for?

I'd like a permanent account that's not dependant on my isp where you can maybe pick your own name (like [email protected]), has a large inbox and pop access.

I like Yahoo! mail too. Hardly any spam.

Another one I only just found is at Mail2World (http://www.mail2world.com). Not sure exactly how good it is, but seems ok so far.

I tried another.com when it was free.
You can have whatever email you like.
I had [email protected]!
You have to pay now, though.
Also, I do NOT recommend Homail (what I call Hotmail), coz its an easy target for hackers.

Yup, perfect, thanks for the tip mate. I just signed up for the 'titanium' account, with 25mb storage, for about £12 a year.

Here if anyone else is interested are the account types.

I dunno, Hotmail does have its uses, like everytime you join a forum or website. :)

I've been using the same hotmail account, for that purpose, for about 4 years now. It's funny how much spam that account gets, usually round about 30 messages a day. I never check it so it gets deleted by msn. Also i use it for messenger. To avoid getting notified everytime i get spam, i set my inbox to exclusive.

The only downside is the transfer allowance- no more than 20mb/hour, and 40mb/month, never sent anything bigger than a couple of megs myself though.

Thanks again. I did check out the free account but it's not really what i'm looking for. I don't mind paying a small ammount, if it means i don't get spam. This now will be my permanent account for friends, family and work. I've had to change account a couple of times before and it's a pain in the arse.

There is no problem with yahoo! Even I have an account on yahoo for four years now and it is absolutely great!
The reason why it was hilarious was, coz I assumed he was looking for more advanced unlimited ad-less email account. Everyone knows about yahoo and hotmail. If he had an account on snailmail.ch which I have as well, you are looking for much more than just a 5 mb email inbox.
Yahoo is my personal fav. as well, but i dont give that address to anyone for obvious reasons. To help you out, use this to avoid spam even if you want to use your own email.
