question, invites in TL [Archive]

my friend has an account in TL for about 2 years. he has about 300gb upload and 1.3 ratio but he doesnt have invites.. i really want invite so what he need to do to get one.. does only vip get invites or also poweruesrs?

No one kns for sure wats the exact rule for getting invites ..
You could go to the IRC ask for the same question ..

VIPs can get up to 4 invites per month as I remember, but PU can have invites too (only one at a time?). It's hard to believe that your friend hasn't got any invites after that long time or he jusr doesn't have invite for now? I'm a PU only and has 2 invites in few month. I had one in a long time but not gained any more than 1. After I used the invite, another one has arrived so I don't know why you friend dont have any.

Yep.
For PU they just come randomly. He should of received at least one by now. Say he doesn't any left atm.

Yep thats is normal they took away invites due to trading and members selling invites on ebay and such :(

Don't know this for sure but i've read somewhere that the only PU that receive invites (randomly)are the ones with a 2+ ratio. Don't know if it's true or not.

I have almost 2 TB uploaded and have been a member for over three years. I have not had invites since oink went down, that's when they removed everyone's. only VIP can get invites and it is outrageously expensive at like 35 U.S dollars min.

It's not just VIPs. I'm a regular PU and got an invite a few weeks ago. Ratio was probably around 15x with 500gb transferred in the past 30 days.

Obviously it's random. Some pu's get them and some don't.

Is it truly random or is it based on ratio + recent traffic? iam1337 got one with 30x + 3tb in past 6 weeks. I got one with 15x + 500gb in past 6 weeks. Gish didn't, but he had 2TB over 3 years (2,000 / 36 = 55gb average monthly traffic).

NewBreed, how much traffic did you do last month? Anyone else have a high ratio with at least 500gb of recent traffic and NOT receive an invite?

It's random but i know one my friend pu just got one invite with over 100 weeks old acc(he got nearly 50 gb buffer) atm i guess this is a little about buffer cuz i got more than one invite time to time but when you didnt use your invite it wont reach to 2 afaik...

They recently changed their rules. I was reading it over and they said that only VIPs are allowed to get invites now. Meaning, you have to donate 40 euros for 2 invites or so. PUs no longer get invites, unless they really feel like giving them out.

How do i get invites

Only vip uses get invites when we choose to distribute them

I was about to post what iceman posted... The rules says just that, that only vip users get invites and when they choose to distribute them.

Really? I haven't gotten an invite for months now. I have a ratio of 1.2 with over 200gigs up, but I just figured they stopped handing out invites because they hit the cap and after the DDoS they got hit with a while back. Do I have to ask for invites?

That rule is BS...don't believe that crap. It has been there for quite a while. I am not sure how invites are distributed, but if you are a PU; theres a good chance you will get one within a couple of weeks.

Honestly, to the thread starter, I think your friend is lying to you.

i get one almost immediately after i invite someone.
i usually up a little more than 500Gb there per month, and i think it's related to the amount you send per month.

im a member 8 weeks now at Tl.Ive got 1 invite so far:)Ive upped 85 and dwn 5.Someone told me before that if you are a power user with a ratio above 2.0, one invite is giving to you per month on the 28th I think.

when I became a VIP there I got 4 invites, but the system automatically took 2 away.. guess they dont want people with a bunch of invites. but it seems like whenever I use my last invite, i have 2 more like a month later. not sure on the logistics of the system tho?

Obviously PUs get invites too. The only question is how high a ratio + recent volume of traffic is required. Bayern got 1 with 85gb over 2 months. They probably also do it on a tiered system:

1) VIP
2) PU with 2x + 1TB traffic last 30 days
3) PU with 2x + 100gb
4) PU with 2x + 50gb

If anyone didn't receive an invite, just try raising your ratio + monthly traffic and see what happens. Plus it looks like each tier has a max number of invites allowed in your queue (VIPs 2-4, PUs 1).

The best way to get an invite is to go to TL's IRC chat room. Do not go in there asking for invites though. You will get kicked. Talk in the channel and make friends. Maybe one will invite you or you can wait till one of the mods get drunk and starts passing them out. It really isn't that hard just have to be patient. If you don't know their IRC, Google it!

The best way to get an invite is to go to one of the open staff recruitment threads (on other torrent forums) where you just PM ratio proof and they send you an invite to TL
