Well i just received a mail from microsoft saying this:

MESSAGE: Today we have discovered a new vulnerability in windows systems, we highly recommend you applying this patch....

ATTACHMENTS: file called " K54403.exe (247k) "

SENDER: [email protected]<[email protected]>

Is this true?

Or maybe is a virus or hacker trying to get in my PC?

THANKS FOR ANY help!!!!

I doubt it was from microsoft - they wouldn't send updates through e-mail, even though that would be extremely helpful

Yeah dont get it, if its not in windows update then dont get it. Also theres no way that microsoft would send a peosonal message to someone. :P

instead, hate MS for making it so easy for these kiddies to make worms. there are still 31 security holes in ie alone.

Yup! Its been out there for quite some time now. And it is obvious no company sends updates, patches via email other than a direct link to the website.
