is there a way to get all updates for xp, without using the windows update page. I got my XP with SP1, in a shop in asia (so it must be a copy). Each time i try to get some security updates, i get "key not valid".

so is there a way around this or some place else i could dl updates, and install them?

thanx in advance, appreciate all help.

Probably best to change your key to one that isn't rejected by Microsoft. Go to Brainwave (http://home.att.net/~nogoodpig/)'s site for a guide.

Yeah, I forogt, I'm on 2000, but been on 98 for best part of 4 years. 2000 keeps my connection to the interent, while 98 didnt. B)

I thinking of getting 2000, one think i hate about 98 is all the damn errors. Does 200 have that problem, i never used it.

2000 is rock solid. I use it at work on a low spec system and it never ever crashes. Mind you, i use XP Pro at home and it's just as good, in some ways better.
