Ok first of all, v2 is not a new design, it's basically a complete recode of the entire site, a lot more work than just a new skin/design. And second, it's still down, not a host change, just a mysql issue.

:lol: That's there for a reason - we don't want non-members allowed into the channels for a multitude of reasons.

Anyways, the reason the support channel was muted was because you wouldn't believe how many people come into the support chan, skip over the topic and say that they can't login. It's fun to jeer sarcastically for the first 5 times, but after that gets a bit lame.

I just wish there was a better implementation of it... RevTT, Blackcats, & What utilize personal passwords. I don't know how those sites manage the personal password database, but it would be nice to at least join the IRC channels while SCC is up without having to go through the web to get in. And if it's possible to make it so you can join while the site is down, so much the better.
