HD AVI, cheap way of getting it on the TV

Hi,

I have a 1080p movie file, but I cant afford a BlueRay writer, is there an alternative way to stream HD movies onto a HD TV without resorting to a BlueRay writer?

I ran a 25ft HDMI cable from my computer to the TV. Works great
