The microsoft optical mouse is great, way better than the Logitech.

if you are going to use the mouse gor gaming, i suggest you get a trackball...basically its a mouse with the ball at the top instead of bottom so you don't have to move your whole hand to navigate, just the first two fingers....very ergonomical for extended gameplay...logitech has good one..minimises wrist injury
go here (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?page=products/productlist&crid=22&countryid=19&languageid=1)
i have the one at the botom, the marble mouse

hell, I just use a cheap ass mouse with a ball.
They last forever if you just clean em once in a while, and when your done, get a new one for like a dollar. :D

i'd easily recommend it, it's been really good for me
once you move away from ball mice, you'll never want to go back
p.s. what a cliché
yep, same here, i would never go back to a ball mouse now, ma optical was pretty cheap. about£13 i think, labtec one, does the job well.
i just got my g/f one to, as her mouse wouldnt move, u had to keep wacking it across the desk to get it to move,
go for an optical one, the micrsoft ones look nice, but the one i was gonna get was a bit dear, the intilepoint blue, it was about £22

that's usually a result of the mouse's rollers being gunked up with dust. you have to occasionally twist the cover off the bottom, take the ball out, and clean the dust off of the ball and the rollers, to get it working right again.
'course, with an optical, you'll prolly never have to clean the mouse at all. ;)
i tried cleaning it a few times, didnt work, i think it was just a cheap crap mouse, it came with her pc,

I think I'll buy this mouse from Logitech: Logitech Cordless Mouse MX700

nice mouse, the only thing about cordless mice is the batteries, unless that one has a charger station. which some do

You could go with the MX500 then the same as the MX700 but not cordless.
And you're gonna save about 20$ too. ;)

I think you can configure most of them yourself.
Very nice for playing games when you have a five button mouse.
