Anybody have any idea when they're coming back or what the status is?
All I see when I click posts is "disabled (temp)" and their forums are not working for me either.

There is no way binsearch is better than newzleech.

binsearch misses A LOT of content and indexes slower than newzleech. So much so that I deleted my bookmark altogether for that site.

I can't comment on nzbindex as I've never used it.

Newzleech is almost flawless though.

I use to use newzleech all the time...but they suck now...i always search filenames and newzleech hardly ever shows results on filenames anymore for some reason...nzbindex is the best try it

I dont know...maybe they fixed the newzleech problems b/c their site crashed at one point and i stopped using it after i started having problems

EDIT: I just checked real quick and seems to be finding new posts of filenames well but old still no good

heres one example searching filename syn-orese for wii game Offroad_Extreme_Special_Edition_USA_WII-SYNDiCATE

heres newzleechs...no result

https://www.newzleech.com/?group=&minage=&age=240&min=min&max=max&q=syn-orese&m=search&adv=2

heres nzbindexs result...finds the game

http://www.nzbindex.com/search/?q=syn-orese&age=&max=25&sort=agedesc&minsize=&maxsize=&poster=&nfo=&hidespam=0&hidespam=1&more=0

One more example searching filename vor-potcawe for wii game Pirates_of_the_Carribbean_At_Worlds_End_NTSC_Wii-VORTEX

heres newzleech...no results once again

https://www.newzleech.com/?group=&minage=&age=240&min=min&max=max&q=vor-potcawe&m=search&adv=2

herez nzbindexs results...finds it once again

http://www.nzbindex.com/search/?q=vor-potcawe&age=&max=25&sort=agedesc&minsize=&maxsize=&poster=&nfo=&hidespam=0&hidespam=1&more=0

Those are just 2 examples...there are no doubt countless others...newzleech is just not reliable anymore

That's really a damn shame that Newzleech isn't what it once was. I just hope that it's just a few problems the siteops have to work out and it will eventually return in all its glory.

In the meantime, I'll use NZBIndex though. Thanks fellas.

That's just madness.

Newzleech is fine. Who searches for "syn-orese" when they're looking for the game 'Offroad Extreme Special Edition'? Seriously...just search the title.

http://newzleech.com/?group=&minage=&age=&min=min&max=max&q=Offroad+Extreme+Special+Edition&m=search&adv=

Or "vor-potcaw" when looking for 'Pirates of the Carribbean At Worlds End'?

http://newzleech.com/?group=&minage=&age=&min=min&max=max&q=Pirates+of+the+Carribbean+At+Worlds+End&m=search&adv=

Yay, viruses. w00t! :D

I have to agree with dutchmaster420, NewzLeech has gone downhill. Plus, he is right, anyone who is good at searching will often use filenames.

It so easy to skip those .exe files...and why does no one mention bintube? They are pretty damn good.

The real question is: Where do I find a list of new scene rls with their filenames so I can search for them on newsgroups?

The real question is: Where do I find a list of new scene rls with their filenames so I can search for them on newsgroups?

Like OrlyDB (http://www.orlydb.com/) or Dupecheck Project (http://www.doopes.com/)?

I usually just search for a file name

eg. asd.r00

Problem with that is you have to guess what the file name is.

For example: http://scenerlslog.com/ has some filenames but it's hardly comprehensive. My guess is that a lot of people have access to prebots but not a lot of people have real axx so filenames are harder to come by.

Somebody should start a service like Dupecheck or OrlyDB but including filenames so that they're searchable on newsgroups ^^

http://www.binaryinvasion.com/forums/index.php?act=idx

^^good souce for new movie header filenames...all new dvd-r movie postings are listed here with their header names...so just search for the header names...and for xbox360/wii extc go to http://www.abgx.net/

abgx has all filenames for all console games

Also...here is the main reason why searching filenames is most effiecent...

Most people who upload dont include any title for the game/movie in the header so when you browse group alt.binaries.games.wii for instance most posts you see will be like this...

[5190]-[#alt.binaries.games.wii]-[001/104] - "qf-spm.nfo" yEnc

^^that is the header for Super_Paper_Mario_USA_Wii-QwiiF....but like i said the games title name was not in header so if you searched the game name nothing would of come up while the filename always will be displayed which in this case was qf-spm...this example was taken from newzleech

Some people post titles, some don't...but searching the filname will find it either way while searching the title wont...most dvd-r posts will usually have title info though so most can be found by searching titles and setting min filesize limits to weed out the junk

DS-Scene (http://www.ds-scene.net/) is a good source for filenames.

ZeroSec is another good source
