Testing my dsl connection, it's about 1.3mb, nearly t1 speed. downloading i'm getting less than 1kb/s the fastest speed I've seen was upload at 17kb/s. What's the dealio? I turned off the proxy and it hardly made a difference. I'm running XP, kazaa +++ and I dunno what the problem is ;) :swear: :swear:

I appreciate all your help.

Thanks kindly...

Hello again did you say that you are at a college?

Nope. I'm not at a college. I'm in a single family home. the speed for everything else is 1.3mb, like I said. I downloaded a 3mb upgrade in seconds. but for Kazaa..... it's like molasses.

if you downloaded the acceerator than it would download at least 7mb/s

Noobiewon,

Have you tried Dling a known popular file?

MusleMan's favorite is Like A Prayer by Madonna.
Any South Park episode will work for video.

I think you'll find that the speeds are much higher.Perhaps the files you seek are just harder to find sources for.
Also, keep in mind that your speed is irrelevant- it's the connection that you are uploading from that matters.

You may have a point there.... but ifI type in games (and check software) it won't even find one game. Perhaps I'm retarded

try searching for "gta3"

When u find what u want to download and it isn't going fast just pause it then right-clik and clik find more sources and see if that works also when searching tick the "auto search more" box and then search for what u want when u find it just let it keep going then look in transfer when u see the speed u like (your max speed) then go back to search and stop the search. Also, it could be that what your downloading doesn't have alot of badwidth (U can only go as fast as someone let's u go) on it so like they said above try to download something popular.

about games and software, you MUST know the name of the game/software you want to download. otherwise you will find fake files of a specific game/software on the search feild(can't spell).

I followed the above advise. I found gta 5 with the same titles even., Started downloading... clicked find more sources... I had like 6... They all went away (and won't come back...) currently, my ETA for download is over 1300 hours...... people are getting big files fast from me.... I still don't understand this problem

And did u do the auto more search thing I told u if u didn't try that then look at the bandwidth, align it by cliking the the bandwidth button from greatest to least (triangle will be point down) then the ones at the top are the one's u want

Are you using a modem or is it a modem/router, because if your using a router you will have to forward the ports Kazaa uses

My downloads are even slower..
most of the time i get a 0.whatever KBs..
and I guess I have the accellerator... and it's still
SLOW
my current download is at 3.9 KBs
dang! that is slow

(So you don't have to ask what I'm downloading, I'm downloading a movie file (an actual movie - not a small download)

I have a dsl connection of 3.3mb and I got crappy dlspeeds as well on K-lite.There can be a lot of reasons for this.I just figured out that I excessed my internettraffic-limit of 10gb.That's why my provider reduced my connectionspeed to the speed of a modem connection(round 64kbps) untill the beginning of the next month <_<
Maybe you're having the same problem I'm having?

Um, I dunno about that router/modem question. I'm dsl, they sent me the little thing with the nice lights :) Yes, I did d/l accelerator. I tried using different supernodes. . . (closer) I have the search more option turned on. Not quite clear on how to get the bandwiths displayed as someone mentioned... but sheesh this is ridiculous. People are uploading from me at MUCH higher speeds, so i'm sharing a whole lot. problem is now I'm getting nothing back. Ijust tested my connection again - 1.3mb. It said compared to connections around the world, mine is "fantastic" yet all of you (most of you) are getting 3 and 4 times the dl speed. the highest I'vew got now is 23kb/s. but it's usually less than 1kb/s I'm geting a freeware file now, with 4 sources, and they're all less than 1kb/s

While I'm at it. can someone explain? What does 1.3mb connection translate to in kb/s? thanks again, sorry to drag on.

1mb=1.024kb so 1.3mb=1.3312kb

Are u paying for what u are downloading.... If the answer is NO. then quit complaining that's a fast connection I wish I had one and your complaing the pathetic speeds your get are probably about 80kB/s and that's just my max.

perhaps I've misunderstood the ratios..... I still seem to be getting slower rates than most. I'm not bitchin' so much as trying to figure out to fix it.

Well..
No..
but.. if it is slow.. it might take days to download a simple Movie or whatever..
Hmm.. my max is only actualy... 15KB..

Hmm.. I am not sure

Oh u are getting 1-3 KB/s oh ok that' kind of a problem just klik pause then right clik and select find more sources that should speed it up.

Perhaps you are uploading TOO fast and it's overloading your connection -- which can cause considerable download speed slowdowns.

What limits are you using for upload bandwidth, max uploads, and optimal bandwidth while idle?
