How about setting up schedular on it. So you can have it scan once a week or something.

Please use "Scheduled Tasks" found in your Control Panel. This feature is already programmed in the operating system.

Use the command line parameters /update /quiet if you want to auto-update without any notification.

Hello everyone, I have a list of IPs that contains ranges of about 2000 IP that are being used by some Euro countries, yet mostly US to track/trap Proxy scanner and other things. Some have a range (with known of at least 5-10 IPs used for that purpose), other have specific IPs.

Any suggestions wether this would be benificial to u guys and/or be used for Bad IP/IP Blocker. I currently have them in HOSTS file & Bad IP and use a tiny program (Calamity & sometimes ProxyChecker) to check my proxy SOCKS5 & normal proxy list for such traps and/or IPs.

Please note that most of them are .mil, .edu, .gov (of their respected countries), however, there are many from the private sector with .edu and others.

Here's a taste, would you have known these are traps and/or within that range there are some?

Aldo Bad Ip Updater is great and all that but have u ever thought of a function where we can type bad ip that we had discovered?
(i usually noe fake files when someone is serving multiple files with the same filenames). I usually type in the Bad IP txt.

But when i update the bad ip list on the server , i realised that the bad ips i had type get overwritten.
And i had manually type again. :(

Can u make our life easier by creating the function where we can type bad ip ourself and not get overwritten when we update from the server?? :blink:

Updated BADIPUpdater to version 1.3:
http://aldostools.mysite4now.com/badipupdater13.zip
http://www.aldostools.com/badipupdater13.zip

New:
- If PGdb is checked, the URL now can be edited.
- Internal hacks to select the proper PGdb text delimiter.

Gonjeng, please let me know if this is what you wanted.

This new updater works fine. It loaded the new file of blocked IPs ;)

But when I updated, the date still stays at 17 November 2003. It doesn't change to 8 December 2003. Is this a bug?

November 17 is the date of the last update from the "official" servers provided by Paul.

If you update from the "PGdb" the updater will download the current database from the specified URL and sets the last update date to today's date.

Today I have updated again the URL in UPDATER.INI with a newer one from PeerGuardian.

If you want to update it manually, the keys updated in UPDATER.INI are:

PGdbUrl=http://www.peerguardian.net/pgipdb/guarding.p2p
PGdbDelimiter=

Or download the latest version of Bad IP Updater 1.3 from:
http://aldostools.mysite4now.com/badipupdater.html

Unzipped, put them in my Klite++ folder overwriting old files, booted Kl++, clicked on Update Ip Blocklist, check marked PG Database, worked 100% fine.

THANK YOU!!! Damn nice job!!! Not even ONE nasty email letter since using this nice feature.

Random info: right click on link, then click 'save as'. Worked for me.

can you make a new version compatible with the new KLR?
the bad ipranges are now in the main folder instead of a subfolder..

You can just edit the .ini file for that.

really? you mean the updater.ini eh? well all i have in it is this:

[Main]
UsePGdb=1
LastUpdate=24-12-2003 12:02:39
PGdbUrl=http://homepage.ntlworld.com/tim.leonard1/guarding.p2p

so there's no line to change the directory :blink:
also: the file is now called: "BannedIPs.txt" instead of "BannedIpRanges.txt
