Ok here's another burning question I got for ya :D

(you love me really :P )

Smilies!.........I don't know about you guys but I use quite a few smilies (as some of you have said Bender :P ) but I don't use them cos I like using them, I use them to show my emotion when I feel it while typing.

If I say something and ;) at you, then I'm sending you a subliminal(<<Good word huh) message, if I put the  then I have just Laughed out loud, if I put  then I am confused (which is why I use that a lot)

Very rarely do I use a smilie and not mean it, ok some of the funny ones like me sex ones and the tank and stuff is just for laughs but the ones that are designed to show emotion I use to effect :) <<See :)

So what about you guys??........Do you use them just cos their there or do you USE them??? :)

:) I have always used smileys...ok sometimes I forget too.

I have even gone as far as calling them "my smileys" when ever somebody picks on one of them. :D

;) I have always said there should be a smiley guide up at the top or a sticky somewhere.Something that shows what each Smiley means.....but then that would lead to a Smiley War. .....

;) But that is not a guide. We already have a Sticky for Smileys. What we was talking about was a guide....a explanation behind the Standard Smileys the Forum uses.

:D Now let the Debate begin! What does each Smiley really mean? :D

*Off to bed.....I expect a highly Posted Debatable thread when I wake up.*

I do use smilies where it's effective to use them or to emphasis a point.

But on the use of smilies, I'm a minimalist - i.e. I'd rather the text do the emphasis where I can and I don't use smilies lavishly ;)

There can't be a standard guide to smilies. Generally the context can be gleaned from the text the smilie is attached to.

I can't believe I just used the words context, gleaned, and smilie in the same sentence. <_<

Mmmmmmmm..... fast?

Mozilla doesn't say how long does it take to load the pages... I would say just a few seconds to load a full page... maybe 2 to 4 seconds per page...

i don't really use smilies, because i tend to talk in a flat tone, so that's how i type - it helps when i deliver a semi-humourous comment

another reason is that my i'm on 56k so it takes to long to d/l the smilies
