2 days ago there was a big raid in Hungary on spam and SMS - Warez servers, which also affected some shady torrent sites. Some (more than 15) servers have been taken by the police from one of the server parks. Yes, Indep, Indeep, BitLove, BitMusic etc. are down. Also some six blokes were pinched and one - alleged owner of the company operating spam and SMS - servers - is heavily searched by police.
There aren't too many details available ATM, but it seems this action has been targeted mainly on so called SMS - Webservers (You send an SMS and get stuff to download in turn) and spam- servers.

Sounds like a good bust for once, if they're going after spam servers.

These guys were real aholes. They were referred as "netgypsies" (pardon my French) in Hungary. Everybody (Hungarian P2P - society) hated them - they mostly preyed on their young victims (who payed SMS - regs). Good riddance! There won't be too many broken hearts 4 them...

This raid was really an exception to rules: most of Hungarian pirates welcome this one, because it's aiming the real netparasites. Those guys used spamservers excessively, operated SMS - servers, and some P2L torrentsites, like Indep, Indeep, BitLove. They used dozens of fake login pages, abducted several sites (like Bithumen last year, the ordeal of BH was mainly their perpetration). These kids were scammers, cheaters. So, yes, it was a damn good riddance! Just wanted my fella FST-ers to know the developments - in my dire straits country.

This doesn't really seem like a terrible loss at all. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I can't believe the police actually went after some of the really bad internets guys for once.

Update.
43 (!) servers have been confiscated with 250 TB illegal content, and 6 of the apprehended 9 people remain in jail. The (illegal) content was available via a high - priced SMS.

I'd say fair enuff...:) Oh..and this is the new world record in terms of size: former biggest loot was a Dutch 65 TB, which is nowhere near to this solid 250 TB. More than 100 policemen took part in the raid.

Well, Hungarian Internet traffic (according to data from BIX) has plummeted 10 % since the raid. This number includes all activities, not only the 4 trackers which were concerned.

I think the police just follow their orders for the most part. It seems to me like a lot of them don't want to waste time raiding torrent sites. :P
This raid was a relatively good thing too. Seems like the people who got raided weren't the "good guys" who want everyone to have free data.

Also lol@all those computers. I'm surprised there wasn't a fire at the place in the 2nd pic.
