FISH is a form of encryption for the IRC network. What's even better is it work for XChat (http://fish.secure.la/xchat/FiSH-XChat.v0.98-binaries.zip) and irssi (http://fish.secure.la/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1400#1400) also (using different plugins)

I guess maybe you have to understand IRC or something? I've never heard of "FiSH". :idunno:

CaptainAmerica you forgot the ")"

Also I don't think it's got anything to do with this :P

Fish (sometimes FISH) was the Allied codename for any of several German teleprinter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teleprinter) stream ciphers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stream_cipher) used during World War II (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II)[ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fish_%28cryptography%29#cite_note-0)

Lol :P

when i patch it erases my mirc.exe and it completely disappears... i am using mirc v6.2. i downgraded just so i could install blowfish but it is not working. I've tried several links for patches for 6.3 and up and none of them seem to be working. Does anyone have a working link or ideas as to how I can install the newest most current version of mirc+fish? (i am on vista btw)

mIRC's implementation of FiSH is pretty crappy anyway. I've seen multiple compatibility issues with other client implementations, the keyx algorithm, and decrypting things like channel topics (though it's been a while since I've seen it used, perhaps the code has been improved).

The better solution (if it's feasible to you) is to run something like ZNC on your dedicated server or seedbox. The module can be found here, along with a menu implementation for mIRC:

http://en.znc.in/wiki/Fish

Download the code, save it as fish.cpp, then copy it to /$home directory$/.znc/modules/

Execute znc-buildmod fish.cpp. A file called fish.so should appear in the directory. You can delete fish.cpp now.

Either add the line
LoadModule = fish
to /$home directory$/.znc/configs/znc.conf
within the specific ZNC user brackets.

Or simply use the command /msg *status loadmod fish from your ZNC user in any IRC client. Afterwards you can use /msg *fish help to review the commands.

Also, here's the website for mIRC/xChat/irssi:

I suppose there's no reason to use FiSH when you're using SSL connection + a bnc (eg. znc).
