hello, when using broadband my pc crashes (completely resets itself) when downloading torrent files or using certain p2p programmes. Withn 'btittorent' or 'burst' it always crashes, usually 0.5-1 hour into downloading with no other applications running at same time. Kazza works fine but soulseek (i got the new version) and winmx always crash eventually.

The motherboard is an 'IM845GL Motherboard made by E-machines.
256mb, intel celeron 1.8ghz, usb alcatel modem - freeserve, Shared Memory Intel graphics. This is the spec of the motherboard as printed in the manual:-

Micro ATX form factor
Intel Pentum 4 processor in the mPGA 478 pin package (probably means for another package)

Two DIMM sockets. expandable up to 2 gb using 1 gb ddr sdram modules

Two built in enhanced IDE controlers

Intel 82845GL graphics memory controller hub

Intel 82801db i/o conroller hub

Built in high performance aidio CODEC and PCI audio controller in intel 82845GL GMCH

SMSC LPC474M192 super I/O controller

Realtek RTL8100B LAN controller

Advanced Power Management (APM) and advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI)

Three 32 bit PCI expansion card connectors

System BIOS and video BIOS shadow RAM

P&P BIOS

A fix would be great as its getting realy frustrating, everything else on my comp works fine, I was thinking of installing windows 98 or simply changing the modem to the front usb port but have my doubts as to whether it would make a differance, windows never indacates that the cpu is under any stress at any time using these programmes so i dont have a clue whats up. any help would be greatly appreciated, ive also tried installing a windows patch.

Thanks alot for any help :)
