View Full Version : Baseball Sucks!

Baseball is waaaayyyy too slow. There's needs to be a time limit when you get up at bat. Even when you go to game you get bored as hell unless something happens like a home run or a steal (base). Striking someone out isn't exciting. The batter just returns to the dugout. Big fucking deal.
They also play way too many games.
Washington DC may finally get a baseball team again. So what!!! We've got too many new buildings cropping up as it is and now a stadium. Fuck you baseball!!!
You can't even watch it on TV because it sucks so bad. I may as well watch popcorn popping in a microwave FOR A LIVING.

Yes, it isn't as bad as cricket. I don't follow baseball myself, but I love playing rounders which I assume is a diluted version of baseball.

Well to like baseball you need patience but i don't seem to have much and i seem to enjoy watching it just like some people love football and i don't mean american but i think its boreing so its just what u prefer. Baseball is a lot more fun to play than watch i will agree with that.

TheDave

howcome american sports are different to the world. are you incapable of playing something that isnt all your own?

imagine if england came up with a new sport everytime we werent the best at the last

Rappy

It was invented in America as was basketball.

Shit, we thought you were asleep, you weren't supposed to see that.

I grew up with modified corkball. The bat is more like a broomstick than a baseball bat and the pitcher throws a tennisball. All you need is a homeplate (often a piece of cardboard or done with chalk) and a wall (side of a school building). You can play with just 2 poeple, you are either batting or pitching. Mano a mano, all the way. 5 balls, 2 strikes, foul ball is an out.

For people who haven't played baseball, there is something really satisfying in crushing a pitch and admiring its flight in the opposite direction.

I agree with that :)

You should watch a good international cricket test match. It starts at 11 am on a Thursday and finishes 5 days later about 5pm on Monday. It can - and often does end in a draw.

I suggest just one match and then you can return to Baseball with renewed enthusiasm as everything will appear to happen at 100 miles an hour.

Actually, I quite like cricket but that is different matter.

As someone once said "it matters not who won or lost but how you played the game"

I love to play baseball. It's fun as shit. But I can't stand to watch it.
Maybe I am TOOO American because I went to a football game that ended in a draw once and it was like almost having an orgasm. In the end I want to see how one team perseveres over the other.

But it does.......Canada's got two teams.

All other countries are just figments of your imagination, except Mexico and Cuba.
And everyone knows they're no good at baseball.

Hell Sammy Sosa is from the Dominican Republic

By the way, I hope baseball does not come to Washington DC. We've got too much traffic already and they are trying to bring the Montreal Expos here. We've got at least 15 BRAND NEW buildings going up not including the new Washington Convention Center and when there tear the old one down they are probably going to put 3 more structures on it's land.

Talk about a big terrorist target JEEEZ <_<

KEEP BASEBALL AWAY, WE DON'T NEED IT

Doesn't matter.
Baseball back in DC will be a new novelty for those who don't travel to Bmore to see the Orioles.

That's way to far to see baseball. They play 180 games!!

180 games? per season

I've misunderstood, yes?
I think I was off by like..uh...18.

Busyman
10-18-2004, 02:44 AM
How long does a season last? It seems like it would have to be at least a decade. :o

Or is it 162 games for all clubs in the league added together.
Each team.

The most suck assed game lasts that long.

In comparison

Basketball has 80 games.

Football has 16.

That tells something about the physical aspect of baseball. The players don't really move alot.

Most of the time they are either simply standing up or sitting down.

The travelling must be a real killer. It still doesn't seem real to me, the concept of more than one game a week is still a little alien to me - even tho' in Soccer it's normal now.

Btw, I can't believe those lazyass NFL players only have to play half a game - tops - 16 times a season. Their physical condition when compared to rugby players is .... ahhh fuck it  :P

Many times when a baseball team comes into town they play back to back games across more than one day.

How many games are in a rugby season?
