http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/3620/altbinziconsetbylaespad.jpgAs you keep repeating this on the site, I feel like I need to point out what we now know about these 'cracked' versions. They contain a trojan that installs a keylogger and runs it invisibly (that's what the vbs does). This eventually sends an email to a gmail account with the subject: 'Hacked Passwords'. If NLSS isn't working in it, the code is 0.28.5 and not 0.30.0.

We @ the Alt.Binz forum know this from sandbox testing and from users with compromised accounts. Needless to say, the dev had nothing to do with making or circulating this trojan. You'll be skeptical I'm sure ... but still, I thought I'd do the right thing and give you a heads up, do with it what you will.

This is completely unconfirmed by me, so I would advise not to download anything releated to Alt.binz anymore you just never know anymore do ya.

I submited files to ESET to find out, but this is a warning to all site members.

I downloaded and scanned the CRD release with Kaspersky AV and it comes out clean. I'm using an older version of Alt.Binz that is working ok anyways so I haven't installed this 0.30 version. I'll try Newsleecher 3.9 final as well. I was using the Beta versions of NL before and I had some issues with them. I like NL and Alt.Binz because they have all the features you need to make everything automated. Download, file checking, unraring and they have built in search engines as well.

I'm not sure which version are you talking about?
If you could clarify it would be appreciated.

I'm using the hacked 0.28.3 and it crashes all the time

It was obvious it had a virus. It even created a vbs registry key at start up.
For now i am using the 0.28.5 and its working like a charm.

I think, I've only used it for a week before the lock ups, I'm going to be re-installing the free version and testing with Windows 7. I've mainly dealt with Newsleecher, Thunderbird (reader only), Newsbin Pro (outstanding client as well), GrabIt (very good freeware), SABnzbd (great, great freeware GUI only app), and from many users tellilng me this one is probably the best out there and very uncrackable, Usenet Explorer. Here's a list of some clients I've downloaded or came close.
