I only got like 1500 bucks for a computer and i'm gonna play games and stuff, what is your opinion on what i should get??? MY local vendor is http://www.iccomputers.ca

I'd check out ABS computer technologies at ABS PC's (http://www.abspc.com). They've got some nice computers at decent prices. I'm sure you could get a nice gaming system from them for under $1500.

Well, obviously you're gonna require a great graphics card. I'd say 256MB RAM is the thing to have now and is included with Radeon 9800s and GeForce FX 5600s. I think a P4 2.8GHz+ will do fine and with possibly 1GB of RAM. An ideal HDD is required for the ever-growing space that games consume and therefore I'd say a 180-200GB HDD will suit you greatly.

umm.. ive had this computer for 4 yrs.. the ram, mb, cpu, cooling, soundcard, harddrive, floppy,.. are all the same. only upgraded cd burner and video card.

Yeah I agree, my HD is going on 4 years now, I think. That and my CD burner is the same age, I mean, I think we probably upgrade most of our computer in the process of about 18 months, but for me atleast I still have my older stuff.

The guy wanted the Ideal gaming computer, damn man you dont have to get all pissy, im just saying you shouldnt buy really off brand parts because the more widely known companies are widely known for a reason.

Get atleast a ATI Radeon 9500 Pro video card. (Dont get the 9600, or 9600 pro.. skip to 9700 cause 9600/Pro is claimed to be slower than the 9500/Pro models)

So, go with 9500 pro (&#036;200), 9700 pro(&#036;250-290), and to get the best 9800 pro(&#036;350+)..

I have a 9500 pro, and personally think it&#39;s awsome. Runs any game at max settings with atleast 40 fps+ minimal really.

I must say the 9500 pro is one evil card. However, don&#39;t talk down the 9600 like its nothing.

The clock is higher in the 9600 than the 9500, for one. The 9500 pro is also hard to find these days and is a bit pricey. Both are excellent choices.
