Is there any way to set up user accounts in Apache, because im going to host some of my friends sites. I have my site set up perfectly and I also need to know how to give them usernames and passwords so that they can upload via FTP.

im guessing the best way would be to give all your mates sites a directory to upload there files to in your root apache directory, that way you can host multiple sites.
you will have to also run a ftp server which you assigned each friend his or her own directory because as far as i know apache cannot create user accounts its just a http server.

Also, you can have .htaccess files for their protected content.

alright i have everything set up but i need just some few minor adjustments. alright im using Cerberus FTP Server and i created a test account adn set it to what directory i wanted files to upload to it adn thats works fine. the only problem is that say the url is http://ssclan.no-ip.com:8080/test and that doesnt work but if i out the urlhttp://ssclan.no-ip.com:8080/test/ it works. it only works if i put the last slash there how can i fix it so that it works whether or not the slash is there?
take the / off of the test directory in your httpd.conf file
