View Full Version : Lost sound after reinstalling windows

And try as I might I cannot get it back on.

Info from Everest is (I think these are the ones I need)

Motherboard Name IBM ThinkCentre S51
Motherboard Chipset Intel Grantsdale-G i915GV
Video Adapter Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family (128 MB)
3D Accelerator Intel GMA 900
Audio Adapter Analog Devices AD1981B(L) @ Intel 82801FB ICH6 - AC'97 Audio Controller [B-2]

I've tried updating the drivers but whenever I try to re-install AC97 my pc shuts down during installation.

Has anyone any idea how I can sort it out?

Be sure you remove or uninstall the old audio driver in Add/Remove before installing the new one.
try drivergenius update checkup
