Or for evocative movie instrumentals

The way that Carpenter adds layer after layer of sound to deepen the feelings of unease is brilliant.

I hope that you know I'm only half joking when I say stuff like that .

I believe that other people's opinions is just as valid as my own.

Just don't play any Mario Lanza and we're cool.

Actually, PULSE is probably the most awesome live concert film of all time.
A close second would be Stop Making Sense.

I don't know if you seen it but Jonathan Demme also did Heart of Gold with Neil Young .
Not to the level of brilliance of Stop Making Sense but then again as much as I love Neil Young he is still no David Byrne.
Of course it might just be the suit though.

Same as it ever was ...

Right...where did this thread go and who brought it back?

To return on topic...
The brilliance of Stop Making Sense is the staging, from bare stage to full band as the setlist progresses.
I actually saw that tour live and was amazed by the band's energy, which the concert film captures very well.
For a bunch of semi-cerebral "art" rockers, they certainly do get sweaty.

A total opposite of PF in PULSE...they look to have fans all over 'em (and probably medical staff in the wings), Nick Mason isn't even damp after the concert is done.
The recreation of Dark Side Of The Moon live is remarkable.
IMO, the version of Money here is even better than the original and even the Clare Torry vocal bit in Great Gig In the Sky is done well.
Think I'm gonna pour some Myer's and watch it tonight.
