Here's the topic (my apologies if this has been done before, please just humor me):

Pick a decade and give us your top ten albums from that decade. Please no flaming, as this is a topic based entirely on personal opinion. Very simple. I will start.

The 1990's

In no particular order:

the Black Crowes - Southern Harmony and Musical Companion
Smashing Pumpkins - Gish
Radiohead - the Bends
Pearl Jam - Ten
Morphine - Cure For Pain
Rage Agains the Machine - Rage Against the Machine
Blind Melon - Blind Melon
Grant Lee Buffalo - Mighty Joe Moon
Edwin McCain - Honor Among Thieves*
U2 - Achtung Baby

* If the only Edwin McCain music you are familar with is his more recent ballad type crap you might not understand this pick. Honor Among Thieves is a tremendous album. Great recording, great songs, and great playing. In my opinion he should have just retired after that album because he never came close to making anything that good again. But again, that just my opinion.

limpbizkit has been away and out of the splotlight and albumless for 3 years. i had to listen to somebody else instead of them. but i still think both of them are the greatest rock bands of they decade and they've proved it with thier success. hybrid theory was the highest selling album of the year and chocolate starfish sold over a million copies it's first week.

Tricky thing decades they last ten years but don't really conform to our notion of dates - musically the 60s started sometime in 62 and finished around 72.

Jethro Tull - Aqualung
Pink Floyd - Ummagumma
Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited
Jethro Tull - Stand Up
Free - Free
Led Zepplin - Second Album
Beatles - Abbey Road
Fleetwood Mac - Then Play On
Humble Pie - As Safe As Yesterday
Family - Just about everything they ever did

I thought this would be easy, but it is not. There are lots that should be in there and could easily have been. B)
