Guide: How to stop torrenting when your VPN drops?

I wrote this for a private tracker forum and am reposting here. With my luck the VPN usually drops while I'm tucked away sleeping so my IP address is exposed for several hours. I solved this issue with a single command. But if you have better ideas let me know.
