Yes it is NTL, if you don't like it, simply move ISP, besides, UK Cable Broadband is crap, xDSL is the better alternative.

I'm not too sure whether the limit is a good or bad thing (how easy is it to go over 1 gig with a 600K connection?) but I do know NTL were having problems here with peoples cable connections slowing really badly (and sometimes stopping altogether) and I guess the cap is to stop stuff like that

You could have a 128K connection and still get just over 1 GB download a day.

14 KB/sec all day straight = 1.15 GB

Back when I only had 128K upload bandwidth, I was uploading 1 GB/day barely.

So if you're connected to even so-so BitTorrents for 2 movies, you'd EASILY top 1 GB/day with a 600K connection.

I'm on NTL and the speed was recently improved to 150K from 128K. I can get about 20kbs on download speed. I have never tried to download more than 1gb a day though, so I have no idea what would happen. But personally I think people should be allowed to get as much as they want. :D

Some ISPs have daily download limits AND monthly limits as well. You may not be hitting your daily limits but watch out for your monthly... get "DU meter"

Yes, everything counts -- they probably even count packets that they drop due to their port-throttling!

So if your connection is limited to 150K upload and briefly it hits 200K upload, they drop the 50K and count that towards your limit anyhow. :P

if u done that that means u woyld still be over by tryin to get to the website because most websites r 1kb a page(with no pics) which means u would use 1GB and 1KB

u would still be over 1GB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh come on then download 900mb the first day 900 the second and 200 n the third day.

Beside this nobody fuckin cares if you are over it with 1kb <_<
