HI.... V dub version 1.3c will open an asf file.... Its in a package floating around Kazaa that has other usefull progs in it ..... callled dvd 2 divx 2 vcd complete package.. do not have the hash though... But It has opened asf files for me no prob

because it doesnt open a asf file, as requested by microsoft to take it out

You can download the old version of Virtualdub at DivX Digest (http://www.divx-digest.com/articles/asf2avi.html) It's the version just before the one that took out the use of asf files.

The link is below the first paragraph of text - directly it's http://www.digital-digest.net/downloads/fi...rtualdub13c.zip (http://www.digital-digest.net/downloads/files/encode/virtualdub13c.zip) , but that will give you a "leech.htm" page if you just go straight to it.

This version of VD is probably deemed illegal by certain people inside microsoft, and is no longer supported or made available by the creator of VirtualDub, but it works fine for me, and can be used happily alongside the latest version.

The guy who makes the software was threatened by Microsoft and didn't want any trouble.

V Dub is cool... That and AVG prob the best freeware around.... in my humble opinion....
