download a 128k or so MP3. burn it to CD-R. then rip the CD-R to mp3. Then reburn the mp3 to CD, rip it. and so on

what happens? :blink:

exactly, waste of time.
you cant rip a cd which has been made from 128 mp3's and expect an increase in sound quality. if you tried to rip it at 320 you would just get the same as what you started with, and as such sharing such files is cheating the public.

hmmm i do help, but yes i am a bit of a party nutta ;) . well i was thinkin....

mp3s work cuz they cut of bits which humans cant hear
well then its recored 2 cd (still mp3 quality)
but then u rip it again....SO WOTS IT GONA TAKE OUT THIS TIME?

Eventually, after re-encode an mp3 enough times...no matter what it was.... it will turn into Michael Bolton. Weird.

Its like that Simpson&#39;s episode where Homer gets cloned. A copy of an original isn&#39;t as sharp as the orginal. A copy of a copy is even less sharp. And so on and so forth. There is nothing to be gained from this other than crappy copies.
