i don't know were to post this but i hope here will do.
i have started to play around with dos and batch files
can anyone help me with this probelm

ok i want a batch file that would do something like this


please enter you name
{person types there name it}
hello {what ever the name was they typed in} !

end of file

i know this is probably very easy to do and someone will hopefully answer this very quickly but hey every one has to start some were !

umm why are u playin in dos? If u accidentally type in "deltree c:\*.*" your whole computer will be bombed.

How could you possibly type that by accident. Even if you did DOS would ask you to confirm it.

Well i know soo many newbs that complain to me or someone else that they typed some weird code in dos cause some cool hacker like guy told them it would make windows better.. blah blah.. and it&#39;s all a joke/ :lol:

instead of batch files have you concidered useing "QBasic" ?

i tried that once on my ntfs drive and it didn&#39;t work :P
