my website is hosted on lycos uk, i followed the guide on the lycos page how to create a favicon in ie, and also the one on daves site. but it doesnt work when i add the page to my favorites, its still a normal icon,
and ive also put <link REL="SHORTCUT ICON" HREF="http://www.mcbriens.net/favicon.ico"> in between the head sections
anyone else help witht his, or have a look see of it works witht them, as i know some browsers show it without bookmarking

what's the point of a fav icon?
no one really cares.
I guess it does make your page stand out more in fav list.

Lycos might not support it properly, or you might not be using the right browser. Try using MyIE2.
edit: have you tried using the real address, not the .tk address? It probably won't work with .tk - check the source of the page and it should come up with a .tk loader page.
hehe, i actually went to ur site coz i seen the screen shot u posted in lounge, so i copyed ur code when mine wouldnt work and changed the url
but still dont work, ill give my ie2 a go then

it shoudl work with lycos as they have it in the webmaster resource section

Just checked, I looked at the source and I don't think it'll work, because lycos seems to be using some sort of javascript on there that loads your page in a frame.
yeah i noticed that, the .tk referer removes it though. so i take it its a :( then
