Alright i have come pretty bored of all the games that i have, so was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for games on the pc. I want something like final fantasy 7 because i havent played an awesome game like that since it came out, wondering if there any alternatives that are just as good.

I recently tried civilization IV but thought that was crap.

Any sguggestions of any games are welcome and appreciated.

I suggest you try:

Emulator + Final Fantasy 4,5,6,8,9 - If you like FFVII you'll like these.
Star Control 2 - RPG adventure game with a amazing world to explore and an awesome storyline. Quite outdated, but I could see someone who loved FFVII enjoying this game.
Age of Empires 2 - Faster, action-packed version of Civ
Starcraft - Terrific RTS
Warcraft III - " "
System Shock - My second favorite game ever, FPS/RPG hybrid
Deus Ex - If you enjoy System Shock, try this game

I've wasted countless hours on Rome: Total war. It's pc exclusive and each game is of an epic scale. First conquer the smaller factions, then turn on your roman allies and take over the senate before they become too powerful. Games can easily last over 40-50 hours.

It's similar to Civ4 but imo much more fun cause instead of simming the battles you can play them as RTS to overcome all odds and get heroic victories. I guess it depends on what you didn't like about Civ4.

why not try the new Empire Total War (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/empiretotalwar/index.html?tag=result;title;0) ?
It is LOOOOOONG ...
If you like RPGs, give it a go to Fallout 3, it's definitely fantastic, though not in the fantasy sense as FF7 is.

and last but not last least, Football Manager 2009, and turn Agbonlahor into the premiership top striker.

Deus Ex. It's a FPS with RPG elements. It has a cyberpunk story that's the best I've seen in games and there's just so much to do in that game... Also there are different approaches to allmost every goal in the game.

It isn't FF, it's better imo.

haha, 90% of my friends who play FM2009 are talking about Agbonlahor as their main present/future star ^^

i stopped with playing FMs, last one was 2008, i tried with Villa and trained him like no one before and he was like monster, i really mean monster, in that process every goddamn club in top five euro leagues was interested in him, never seen situation like that

i thought maybe about giving a chance to this one Fm09 but its too late now, ill just get back to my Call of Duty MP love :)

RPGs tend to be very different between consoles and PC. FFVII is a port from the PS1, so the aren't many similar RPGs for the PC.

If you are willing to try, there are some great PC style RPGs:
Baldur's Gate I & II.
Knights Of The Old Republic.
Neverwinter Nights.
Planescape Torment.
Fallout (entire series).
Diablo I & II.
Morrowind & Oblivion.

Another option, as someone said, is to get an emulator for the SNES and the PS1. There are tons of games to choose from:
Xenogears
Final Fantasy IV, V, VI, VIII, IX.
Vagrant Story.
A Link To The Past.
Chrono Trigger & Chrono Chross.
Valkyrie Profile.
Secret Of Mana.
etc.
