Yeah, use private trackers. Lot's better.

If you still want to use public ones, I remember using torrentz.org. Don't know if it still exists, though.

I'm not the best person to ask since I don't really keep up on this stuff but maybe

For public

torrents.to it's a search engine that will find things on public places like mininova and btjunkie.

For private

zamunda or demonoid

All these are search engines though. I would say demonoid is the best tracker next to TPB. Just make a request for demonoid in the invites section here and I guarantee someone will invite you. It has a ratio counter but like TPB you will never be banned for low ratio, it's mostly for pride.

or just use btjunkie.org , which is a massive indexer...
i used to down the torrent file from there and paste a list of trackers into the utorrent tracker box to get more seeds, before i went private of course...(though i still do go back to public wheni cant find it on privates)

If your referring to content... Demonoid.
If your referring to the tracker... that's a very good question.

As Burn Notice doesn't air a new episode until July 9, I decided to grab a copy of the pilot and rewatch that tomorrow night. The problem was finding one that wasn't tracked by The Pirate Bay.

This is the 'real' issue that is beginning to unfold before us. There are almost 2 million torrents tied to that tracker, and a good portion (those that do not have DHT-enabled) will die, when it goes down.

Now that's something to think about.

I use isohunt for most of my stuff, but recently found a site called superfundo and its miles better

isohunt/mininova till they get to them

Both sites just index torrents they're not actually trackers. Most of their torrents are actually hosted on tpb.

+1. Mininova is mostly full of p2p releases and isoHunt is just a search engine.

Most of those torrents you find will ultimately end up being hosted by TPB tracker...

I would think Demonoid Is the most lightly substitute, no one can deny the large amount of content they have.

Read through the thread (aka look at sear's post) before saying your shite. It just clutters stuff up, repeats bad info, and confuses the people who actually want help.

It's a search engine (indexes torrents), like Google.

Has anyone had a look at "TorrentBox"?

Good luck. What's wrong with a private Scandinavian tracker?

I don't know any off the top of my head though :(

Pasted a whole lot of TPB replacements on this thread a few days ago (2nd post):
http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/f-bittorrent-43/t-open-trackers-360002

All of them are TRACKERS, not just indexes or search engines.

mininova is very decent for a public tracker. Btjunkie is also good, but you have to watch where you click, they have a good number of ads lol

Only thing about mininova, is that it isn't a tracker, its an indexer...

You get invited by someone, of course. Note that it is not a wise idea to beg for invites in this section.

You don't even need to join Demonoid to use it. Demonoid torrents are indexed by many other sites, and the tracker is open to non-members. I've tested it both ways, and my download speed when logged in was no faster than when not logged in (and w/ a different IP)

Maybe things are different now - it's been probably a year or two since I last logged into Demonoid.

One last thing: Never pay for a Demonoid invite - these things are as common as dirt.

There's no way a tracker can limit your download speed. You're right on that membership isn't required to download their torrents, though. As far as I remember guests could initially only access new upload, but that restriction was lifted around last year.

You should never pay for an invite to any tracker.

If you didn't pay they kicked you out but i can't remember the name of the tracker

Zamunda is the biggest and best tracker on earth IMO.
You should sign in if there's free place.

And if you can find a working .bg proxy. I do have an account there, but I don't want to bother with proxies and such. I miss the days everyone could access the place, as it was an excellent tracker.
