not sure what the difference between the private server and the public server is. but im dling it now.(still getting that same error as everyone else.) When someone gets it, explain or post the nfo.

i dont know what the error is. But the public server patch makes it so you dont need the server ip to join. The private patch u needed to ip address to connect.

  Introduction
  ~~~~~~~~~~~~
 
  Actually we wanted to include this in the previous release as to prevent
  two releases, but it was not yet bugfree. Since so many people have been
  requesting this feature though we still did finish it up and release it.
 
  The difference between the private server patch and the public one, is
  that this one will list the internet server you are running on gamespy,
  making the game matching process easier.
 
  Instructions
  ~~~~~~~~~~~~
 
  Extract the new 'halo.exe' in your Halo Combat Evolved installation
  directory, overwriting the existing halo.exe.
 
  Note: The patches are compatible with each other, however only the public
  patch will show up on the gamespy list when running an internet server.

How do i host a halo game and get other people to come??

Hey i just downloaded and installed Halo and im having some problems. When i first start the game i get the intro and a flashing white screen, and the menu never shows up, and then it freezes and never works.

I have a Geforce 4 TI
Pentium 4 1.7 ghz
512 mb ram

Anyone know the problem?

i finish downloading ta Halo files (Halo_Combat_Evolved-FLT) but don no how to install it, any1 no somting pleas help me out

1. extract all the files with winrar
2. you will get a bin and cue
3. burn the cue with nero
4. go to supraNova.org and get the public server file and replace the halo.exe

after you un zip with winrar & get the bin/cue
get this

then click the icon (after you install) by your clock
mount image
then find your cue
it will be as if you burned it and put it in your cd tray
it mounts it on a virtial drive, save cd's

Goody i fixed the problem, just needed to turn off antialiasing on my card, works fine now however the game is pretty boring if uve already played it on xbox.

Well yes i own an xbox and yes i beat halo on it but u guys all know its not the same with a control stick instead of a keyboard. I juss got halo-flt and ijuss wanna say it rocks. Love goes out to all the people that contributed to it thanks !! :)

I don't know if the other people are annoyed at about 4 different threads being created every day, but i'm kind of sick of it, and it will probably get worse once a rip comes out, or the game is released worldwide.... yeah i just got finished with it i love this game the onyl thing i didn't like it the level design and the levels in general were repetitive and got tedious i hope Bungie Ports Halo 2 over to PC i'd hate to buy an X-Box just to play it but this game alone makes the X-Box look not so bad.either way i cant wait to see what Halo 2 looks like.

Also, once people with real Halo keys start playing, it will be hard to find cracked servers. If your hosting a game on a cracked server, write the word "CRACKED" in the servers name.

I've got a GeForce 2 64MB and it runs fine (a bit jerky but I dont really play a lot of games on the PC so I'm not about to upgrade!)

went to gamespy looked @ the halo severs clicked on games till I found one that loaded
play for a few, well got my a55 beat & quit :angry:
worked ok, I guess unless you know someones ip & they want to play join them that way

I used the update (from here (http://files.worthplaying.com/files/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=490)) and then used the FLT server crack. MP works fine now.
