Any sites really comparable to TL?

TL is just a huge active site including but not limited to scene releases.
Is there any other site with a large user base that includes almost as much fresh content where the community is as active?

I know about scc and sct but think they are small in comparison and don't include the breadth of choices.
Just really curious as I would like to know a good backup site in case TL is ever down. I'm not a trader, just looking for opinions.

One word - RevolutionTT. Its an awesome tracker and I am happy that its not that overhyped. I don't want them to get unnecessary attention.

But yeah, RevoTT is very similar, allthought the community feel of it is better there and it has less members (still over 40,000).

IPT if you don't mind a whole screenful of filler you need to scroll through to get to the search hits.

Zamunda has alot more torrents than TL, if you are looking for something comparable OR bigger.

well TL is a huge tracker .. with over 160k members .. but there are trackers like TL compared to its huge user database like BwT (~160k members) , Zamunda also has a lot of members afaik ..

as content wise there are many trackers which are better , faster and cooler than TL like SCC , ScT , RevTT or GFT ..

For content,i would say there is no other tracker that matches with TL,the MPAA are in it but people still refuse to leave(a good example would be sharky from FSF)....Its the one tracker alot of people would hate to lose.As for other things such as community,pre times etc am sure a good number of the aforementioned can claim to be ahead of it by far...

well, of course there are sites comparable and better. RevoTT pretty much better in almost everything. TL, while they continue like this, the heat will stay on them for the long term will and have serious consequences on the site. About pretome has good potential but will have to increase the rules regarding seeding... they have around 35k torrents and 11K torrents are dead at the moment. But for a non ratio tracker would be normal, but better can be done.

Search around, you will find invite, lately they are not giving invites easily :frusty:

How did nobody mention ScT? I don't use TL, I find ScT is more secure, just as fast, with a collection just as big, give or take a 3-4 thousand torrents.

look, it's pretty simple, TL is expendable to a LOT of poeple, they Alienate the new members with pointless wait times, and the initial gigs upped are a pain for anyone witha slow conneciton, IPT and PTM, both on the other hand have none of the above mentionaed problems, Not to mention the Glaring lack of freeleech on TL(regardless of it's ease of seeding, aka slow conneciton problem)...

My first private tracker was TL, and I got rid of wait times on my 512 kbit upload in about 2 weeks, just seeding one torrent which I snatched off arenabg. Wait times help weed out bad users and people who are not willing to put the effort. Good users remain on the site. Sure, it can be a pain in the ass sometimes for newbies, but it has worked for TL so far, considering that it was about 450,000 seeders.

ScT isn't exactly the easiest site to get into...plus if you don't have a seedbox you will die there unless you download everything freeleech that comes your way...

you have to remember when counting torrents just because Revtt and ScT has more torrents then TL...TL doesn't do pr0n and that is at least 15% of ScT and RevTT(if not more)
edit: I see a XXX catagory on TL? is that for VIP plus?

there are only 3 sites I really use RevTT(90%-everything, forums) SCC(8%-TV packs and shows because of their pretimes) (ScT-2% random packs, forums [if I got into ScT a long time ago and built a better buffer it would be my main site]) waffles(all music)

amount of torrents:
revTT: 25,446 (has a request section, that I have used many many times)
ScT: 24,882 (anyone that says ScT doesn't have the best speed doesn't have an account there)
SCC: 32,862 (not sure why this isn't a level 4[10]?)
TL: 24,832 (thats with no porn that I know of? - which is really impressive)
IPT: 58,217 (All of their movies get turned into .mp4s if I am not mistaken)
PTM: 36,010 (just joined this weekend...will probably just let it die...I think sites that keep ratios have better speed and retention [GFT,FTN could be the exception]) only reason I joined was pure curiosity(I hate the layout and forums) I like really clean looking sites (RevTT, SCC, ScT, IPT, PTN [all very pleasing to the eye])

it all comes down what you want and what you can handel:

speed = ScT (and fairly active forums)
Pretime = SCC
awesomeness = revTT (I am biased, I really like that site)
ads, ugly forums, prolly next to get shut down :whistling = TL
good underated site = IPT
easy to join, no ratio = PTM

I put a lot more effort into this thread then I wanted to this early in the morning :lol:

nice post tippertime, very informative =) I am going to try to get on RevTT soon as it seems to be the best TL alternative. Ive been using TL for years, but want to check out RevTT. I also agree with you, I can't stand the layout on PTM. I too did make an acc there, but will also probably not use it, letting it die so another user can join.

Just personal preference, it kinds puts a new user off if you have to wait 48 hrs for smfin, just that TL didn't live up to my kind of expectations, so imho IPT still has a head over TL...

I'd just like to add, that, if you are focused on iso apps, you probably won't find a tracker which comes close to TL. TL really excels in that area.
