Hey guys....

There are a lot of different groups doing these rips these days and i want to see who people think are the benchmark for this type of rip?

I watch my movies on a 32 inch LCD and the best looking rips so far have come from D-Z0N3.

So who do you guys rate highly and recommend me try?

I might be wrong but I am not able to find differences among brrips from different groups. Maybe my monitor is too small and I dont have good speakers

Nhanc3 have recently started doing "nSD" rips, don't expect quality for file sizes under 500MB. SANTi is a good one.

NPW does some good rips in 720p ....with small size fo 2 to 3 gig

Given the size, I assume the real reason for downloading these is higher quality but retaining divx compatibility?

I never really got the idea of downloading an encode of an encode. I'd respect these groups more if they managed to get the original source to encode.

PRODJi and D-Z0N3 are terrible rippers.

If your TV runs 720P as you said it does, then 720P rips may be a better option.

If you prefer the lower res, then look for a group that can do it properly.

agreed.

just b/c you see their rip everywhere does not make them better. It's similar to aXXo, his rips are everywhere but they aren't good.

ProDJi are quite good. I'm not very involved in what's happening with encoding or anything with TV/Movies at the moment... But at least that group used to be good when I downloaded their releases.

ive never really understood it..

encoding in xvid a rip from a bd source is an unspeakable disgrace...
x264 is the way to go.. even for those dvdrip or a bit larger size rips (especially for those rips!)... what? ur hardware player doesnt support xvid? get urself a fine piece of technology ffs..nowadays only the most lame players cant play x264\mkv

Who resurrected this old thread? NPW is good though. I use x264\mkv (For my Blu Ray Movies and Anime).

I hardly ever download XviD anymore, but SANTi has never disappointed me when it comes to XviD BRRip, but then again they don't fuck with brightness and color saturation, like some of these other BRRip groups. The most ridiculous ones are even doing <3GB 720p XviD. What is the point of that? If you are going to do 720p XviD (why oh why??) then at least have it at a reasonable size since you are using an outdated worse codec than h.264/x264.
