Yes they do really work, and quite well at that. Alot of the repeat offenders that you speak of may just be little tracking cookies. Not a big deal, just get rid of them. You'll get them simply from surfing the net, so that's why they almost always come up in your searches.

ive got kazaa lite

i didnt say you didnt :D

have you had kmd installed before, cos it sounds like not all of it has been uninstalled correctly.

i just tried kmd yesterday again for a laugh, and before i uninstalled it, i ran both ad and spybot, gator showed in both. its some kind of marketing thing.

just run spybot/adaware again and repair any problems

i noticed there were still a couple of kazaa folders left in the registry after uninstall/spybot, tho these were'nt picked up by a scan so i dont think they were anything suss, but i deleted them anyway

if you mean the folders in my registry, i know

here's a link btw to the that site "Gator" (http://www.gatorcorporation.com/)

the site mentions something called 'Gain', i'm sure that was one of the things installed with kmd, and a couple of other things

Get cookiewall...it lets you add the cookies adaware/spybot finds to a section which keeps them from being downloaded onto your machine again.

the progs work great, bur remember if you scan with sbs&d, then with adaware, adaware can detect things quarantined in sb, kinda givin a false positive

i run ad-aware once a week and i usually find the same stuff i found last week but they are only cookies. i think ad-watch can help u with your problem. it will tell you whenever sumthing is being written in the registry. there is a same tool in spybot as well but i dunno its name cuz i dont use spybot

[B][FONT=Optima][SIZE=7][COLOR=blue]I had d/l both Ad-Aware (full version) and Pop-up stopper for those blasted Messenger popups *($#(). I then d/l Zone Zone Alarm firewall (with the unlock key) and lo & behold all of the bull stopped! Since I d/l it 3 days ago, there were over 6,000!!!! attempts to penetrate my computer, mostly by messenger users but alot of others also. I am very impressed with that program!

if you are saying spy sweeper misses spyware then you got it configed wrong or its not upto date because there is no way unless what you are looking at is not spyware

I agree, MM.

I think SpySweeper is very good.
Updates are more frequent and easier to get also.

not to block all cookies, just the tracking cookies & such that keep appearing on Spybot/AA scans.
