Aha, so you seed these packs and have seen every movie/TV episode in them? I think not.

Seriously I watch 80-90% of what I download.

PS: I seed stuff that I don't watch too...

i download movies from 2 trackers..
PTN is ratio free.. so i only need to download the ones i watch and seed for the required time..

the other one is Goem.. i have enough Freeleech slots to keep me goin for a month

so, yeah.. i end up downloading movies which i am interested in..and not for the sake of "buffer"

Almost all the movies that i downloaded are for watching. I don't see the point of download some thing as big as 1.4gb and not watching it.

Yeah I watch almost everything I'm downloading, because of choosing what to down, and not grabbing everything that been upped.

Well, it depends on several things:

I don't like cars and stuff like that, I'm not a fan of Fast and the Furious movies. However, I downloaded that movie because I knew it was going to be popular and would help my ratio.
I've recently bought a new HDD, so I don't mind downloading a popular movie and seed.

I usually only download the movies I tend to watch though.

Sometimes it'll take me months or maybe even years to watch what I had downloaded, and in several cases I've downloaded whole tv seasons and trashed the files before finishing it cause it sucked, but I would never download something without the intention of watching/listening/using it somehow.

I always plan to use everything I download, but sometimes I end up not using it after all.

I really don't care, you are free to download and not watch as much as you want, watching the movies justifies nothing.

Only what I intent to watch or that I want to archive for a rainy day (Movies I've already seen in good quality). Whether I ever get around to watching every single movie is a whole other story.

I wouldn't download if I wasn't going to.

TV series I have trouble watching, because I don't have a dedicated time when I can :(.

I've seriously got about a season of each tv series I downloaed I haven't seen yet. Some I'm half way through and have forgotten the plot

I've had a lot of sleepless nights in the past few months and have been looking for new movies that may have passed me by. I was really surprised at how many movies I have seen.

The sad thing is how few movies are worth keeping/buying after they have been seeded back. Quite a few aren't worth watching all the way through.

Really glad I have the option to download instead of renting or buying. At least disappointments only cost some time and bandwidth.

I want to watch the things I download, but whether or not they actually get watched depends, in part, on my wife's overriding vote.

I don't watch any of the movies I download. They're downloaded to just fill up my hard drive, thus increasing my e-penis.

When the industry puts out a good movie they make money regardless of downloading. Also, copyright laws were not meant to be used against consumers. The lawsuits that are being filed are essentially an extortion scheme against individuals who cannot defend themselves against large corporations.

If I can't watch it for free, I don't need to see it.I would like to be able to support/reward good films and film making by buying them. I used to buy all of the exceptional films. I can't bring myself to support an anti-consumer industry anymore.

I am just countering the notion, not you, iLOVENZB. :)

Well put...I pretty much have the same point of view regarding copyright laws.

In regards to the movies I leech, anything I dl I intend on watching. Sometimes, however, I just don't have the time...

No individual can win against large corporations in any situation.

I would like to be able to support/reward good films and film making by buying them.

You don't have to buy the movie, album, app to support the director, artist or developer, you can buy merchandise like Action figures.

I believe that X-Men: Wolverine made about 30% of its profits by merchandise which include pencil cases, action figures, bags etc.

I agree 100% with your view but if you were trying to make money off a world like today you'll have to try very hard.

Look at the perspective of the Director, Artist and Developer's out there.

You can't help but say "Pwned" to Microsoft

PS. Has anyone read the BBC interview of ThePirateBay a few years back? It's got some powerful points there.

The views from The Pirate Bay (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/click_online/7120845.stm) ironically there is a torrent on TPB :P

Google "BBC Click - Pirate Bay Interview 29.11-2007" for the video, or stream it on the BCC :w00t:

iLOVENZB-

Regardless of where they head in the future, TPB will have a lasting legacy for what they have done over the years. :)

I worked on a "low budget" movie (out of Hollywood)a little over a year ago. The directors, stars, cast, and crew all got paid very well- regardless of the movie's ultimate profit or loss. I still have not seen the movie released, but we all got paid. Investing in a picture would be risky- that is when someone would have to place their bets wisely. People don't pay to see "bombs" like they used to.

The article you posted did have many great points. One of the best, which you already pointed out, was merchandising. Another huge one in the article is product placement. Look at all the toys and cars and trucks in Transformers- bet everyone knows the brand...and recognizes the new models. The movie industry has not slowed down one bit. Look at all of the movies that are available to us.

Isn't the new Harry Potter coming out tonight? I am certain that it will do hundreds of millions of dollars- plus toys, etc. I know my wife is excited- she has all of the books in hardback.

I usually watch TV shows right away after I download them..I've downloaded a lot of movies that I have on my external HDD though, it's nice to have a wide choice of movies to choose from whenever you want to watch something. Then I also dozens of TV-seasons that I'll hopefully watch someday, whenever I'll manage to find subs to them....

I used to just download movies. I have a nice DVD collection now but I have only watched about 10% of it. Now I don't get DVDs. I'm getting 720P movies and I only download what I'm going to watch.

yeah most of it. Im just finished in boarding school this year and had a shitload of free time so I used to download hundreds of movies at weekends when I went home and watch them during the week instead of study on my laptop.
