i think it is having DNS or international peering issues.

I just checked the BiTT forums and apparently there are a lot of people having the same problem. There isn't (yet) a clarification from a staff member regarding this issue, unfortunately.

Amsterdam3, NL: Timeout while connecting(1044) ; DOWN
Krakow, PL: Timeout while connecting(1044) ; DOWN
If 2 or more stations find an error or do not get response within 4 seconds, we consider the site to be "down"ŧ...

Hello guys,

Bittorrents was never down (except for 2 days last week when the server went down for maintainance) but as Cabalo said (i guess he said that), we had some issue with International peering. Also some Romanian users aswell had issue connecting to the site. Now, i can assure you all that the problems were all fixed and hopefully anyone can connect to the site again.

P.S.: Your account should be ok and nothing should be changed. If it is, don't hesitate to contact me to fix this issues.

P.P.S: I'm one of the administrators of BiTT.

Again we are having issues with international peering. The host is not accepting connection from certain countries. Actually i don't know why, but i will contact the higher staff in order to fix this issue.

P.S.: You can try connecting directly to the site using its ip: http://91.205.175.227/ . Maybe this way it will work (not really sure about this).

Update: Due to some security bugs, the international peering is down and the site is not accepting anymore non-Romania users. This will be fixed very soon and the access will be restored.

Also, if you really want access send me a PM with your IP address to give you access to the site. This access can only be used by you and only you.

because most ADSL connections use dynamic IPs.

Silverleaf
07-26-2009, 08:27 PM
Helionster... we will check this issue and will look for a way to solve it. Maybe we will unblock the whole IP Class...but that's the coder's decision. I will return with an update in short time (if i find the damn coder... cause he's running around its tail and sometimes he gets lost ;) )

Silverleaf
07-27-2009, 11:18 AM
There is no irony in Cabalo's post. He is quite right. Most of the ISP charge you a monthly fee (or a one-time fee) for setting a static IP for your connection.

To see if there is any fee for this kind of request, you should call or e-mail your ISP company and check if they charge any fee for setting a static ip for your home connection.

Helionster
07-27-2009, 02:52 PM
I'm sorry,my bad I read "free" where he wrote "fee" and then I got confused. I'll see to that IP issue...dependening on the weight of that fee I'll decide wathever suits me best.

Cabalo
07-27-2009, 03:33 PM
that fee, at least where i live in, is quite high. it's mostly used for some small businesses who want to host a small server or need VPN accesses.

@Helionster.. the issues will be fixed in the next weeks. Bitt has only one coder and he has a job besides coding on BiTT so its time is quite limited. That's why this issues are harder to get fixed. Also by fixing those, it may be possible to create other breaches in the site and we really don't want to get hacked or something like that. Just bare with us just a little more because everything will be alright.

@Enlightened... send me your IP address (if you do not have a dynamic one) at this web address : [email protected] and i will introduce it in a list that contains accepted IP's that can connect properly to the site.

Silverleaf
08-12-2009, 08:26 AM
So ... to clear things up:

1. The domain of bittorrents.ro was changed and it is now lasttorrents.org .
2. You can now access the site faster using this web address: http://lasttorrents.org/login.php .
3. Your BiTTorrents accounts were also transfered onto the new domain so use your old username and password to log in.
4. The forums are now in reconstruction mode so those are unavailable. If you have any questions or problems you can contact the staff by accesing this link : http://lasttorrents.org/staff.php . (i'm also there :-P)
5. The FAQ and RULES will also be changed to English and those will be revised to get them corrected.
6. If the site is unavailable... it means that the coder is working on it and has decided to temporarily shut down the server for maintanance but it will be back ASAP.

If i remember anything else i will let you know.

You're probably trying to download the latest torrents uploaded there. In order to do that, you must be a power user.

[ENG]Users will be automatically promoted to Power User class if:

# they uploaded at least 25 GB
# they have a ratio equal or above 1.05
# the account was created at least 1 day ago

The promotions will be automatically made by the site`s script, after 00.00 server hour.
