View Full Version : Are Intel Loosers With Their P4 Ee Launch?

1. Yes, the P4 EE is just a marketing tactic to overshadow AMD's Athlon64 launch

2. No, the launch of the P4 EE is just a coincidence

3. Maybe, but it's acceptable since the P4 EE is *so* fast

they never wanted to compete with AMD 64. kinda stupid to compare them since the P4 EE is just a Xeon with more L2 cache. just wait till Intel does release the CPU thats the one thats ment to compete with AMD the Pentium 5.which should be at market by Febuary 2004.

Yeah definitely 1 and it worked, the EE spanked the AMD64, Intel shifted the release of their next major chip well back because of the problems AMD had with the 64 and because they knew that the EE could handle it in speed. I hope AMD have something up their sleeve because with all the extra production and design time Intel have had for their next core, they'll probably be getting high yields and fewer production problems, so the chips could end up being quite cheap (or intel will just sell them expensive and make a ton of money)

Intel have always been behind AMD the only reason they got ahead with the p4 3.2 GHZ was because they panicked. In doing that they were supposed to have spent extensive resource's and funding in order to get ahead, this could be the reason for high price of them. For the same reason there hasent been a great deal of advertising for their next main processer.

They have been saying for the past year their main focus was to push the Centrino line of notebook branded setups, etc etc.

I dont know about all of that guys.

I think in the long run all of the competition benefits us consumers.

I reckon the Itanium has failed, before it has even been launched, unless Intel do some serious modifications to it.

The Xeon, however, is a different story, it is easily capable of competing with the Athlon64.

So whats so great about Xeon, as long as i know Xeon still is a 32-bit, how can a 32-bit can compete with 64-bit   ??????????

I heard somewhere that amd's "are the gamers friend"
Is this tru, or is it just more marketing?
(I believe that amd is targeting "impulse" buyers).
I'll wait for the prices on that 64 bit chip to go down before
considering a purchase. :o
