If this could become an organized effort, as in certain categories are assigned to different people, it could work out quite well.

There would still be a problem with maintaining seeders and getting the notice of the new tracker out to people who are seeding on TPB. Some might not even know of the recent developments...

Apparently you didnt even read the article, all torrents on pirate bay, every torrent file downloaded from The Pirate Bay not only includes the announce URL of their own tracker (that will presumably be turned off after the sale), but also the announce URL of the newly launched OpenBitTorrent (http://torrentfreak.com/openbittorrent-tracker-muscles-in-on-the-old-pirate-bay-090705/) tracker.

So, I might do this on a certain category as the pirate bay is going under; yet, what is the next best open tracker, Demonoid, http://1337x.org/ , or http://www.h33t.org/

Yea but anyone with older torrents might not have included those announces when they first DLed it, so dont have it now. If they haven't been following whats going on, they'd be left in the dust.

I swear if you guys aren't going to read the article, before replying.....It states every torrent, which means there isn't a choice...I've checked three torrents from 2004, and along with the piratebay tracker, the newly launched OpenBitTorrent tracker is also there...so it doesn't matter how old they are....
