I am lucky to have never grown up without a pet, if it was not a dog it was a cat. I now have a cat called joey, and a dog called scooby. My cat eats and sleeps all day and rarely goes out, and the dog is mostly the same. but one thing they do have in common is the fact they are jealous of each other. If i stroke the dog the cat expects a stroke, and vice versa. Although both can be a nuisance at times, i would be lost without them.

Our latest dog actually laughs when I give it a command....seriously ! A big smile crosses its mug and you can hear it do the throaty chuckle like it's saying; " Sure pal, you come lick my ass for me and maybe I'll think about it. " :P

yes my dog scooby seems to do that sometimes when i try to shift him of the couch, because he is a labrador cross, but black? anyway, he always gives me a cheesy grin as if to say" who the hell do you think you are disturbing my sleep, this my couch". My cat joey is a real pain when i eat chicken, it will just not leave me alone and constantly stares at me as if to say "hey wheres mine ass-ole".

Maybe he's a black-lab cross. Dopey, but cute when they're puppies.

yes that looks a bit like him, the pic you put up, but i got him when he was about 2 years old of my mom, she now got 2 more, a jack russell cross called sparky, boy is it small, and another dog(cannot remeber what breed) but that is sabby. they are obsessed with S names ending in Y, god knows why. Sparky and sabby the dogs, smoky the cat, shandy the hamster, and smiley the cockatiel. weird?

Dogs reportedly respond better to names ending with an e sound, being that they'll learn their name faster than dogs that don't have an e-sound name.

Edit: Although I don't think there's been anything similar done for cats. Or birds. ;)

My dog is called Woody. He looks like a miniature German Shepherd, he`s some sort of cross breed, dunno what exactly, we got him from a rescue home, some asshole dumped him and his 4 brothers in a box.

This thread is still about pets right? Things tend to change rather quickly here.

Well I have 1 boy dog, 1 girl cat, and they are in love! I swear it's so funny! He always would chase her around the house trying to hump her, but she didn't seem to mind to much. Of course I would break them up though, it's just not right. She would sometimes go over and try to play with him but he'd always turn it into a sex thing the horny little bugger.
Since then my little dog - a shih-tzu - has gone completely blind, I felt horrible about it at first and didn't know what to do, but he seems to be getting along pretty well now considering.

:D Let em have their fun.... who knows.... maybe you could wind up wif a whole new species of pet as a result!

It's not completely off, three birds, three rabbits and one dog, may from time to time rise to the occasion.

The black dog is still with me, my long time mate [he's 12.5 now] the white/yellow dog was put to sleep long time ago, she lived with me for just a few months.

Nice, Linda.

I've got 4 cats-Murphy, Max, Molly, and Milo.

Not supposed to have any pets (I rent) but prevailed upon the landlord to okay ONE cat-look at me now!

Love dogs, ferrets, even rats, like Linda does.

I look out the door and see rabbits, deer (10 at a time!), a weasel, raccoons, chippies, squirrels, etc.-it's all pretty cool, as I live at the edge of a wee small town (2000 pop.) and am still surrounded by houses and people.

Some of the animal/human interaction is.....interesting.

Titey-I'd like to go on record as a non-wood-stroker; I have made arrangements with my wife to aid in my avoidance of the embarrassment. ;)
