Well I finally got around to finishing "Firefly" and wonder how the hell did those tards at FOX cancel this, it's still has a rabid fan base still trying the brink the show back...so my vote is for Firefly, the best canceled show ever.

Oh yeah "Reaper" too :)

But if you like mystery then the worst cancellation is definitely Carnivale

Dead Like Me and Arrested Development are two shows that should never have been dropped.

But what do you expect?
This is a nation that still thinks Two and Half Men is worth watching.

I liked that show Jericho which was canceled; followed by a rushed, crap finale. All because the execs feel there's no money to be made.

It's a real shame those two got canned and shows like prison break and weeds keep getting put out long after the writers ran out of good ideas.

Yeah, Prison Break should have been 1 season and done or one episode and done, how many seasons can you have breaking out of prison?

I disagree with the Weeds, it was good up until this season, I started watching it again, and it's starting to get decent again.

Oh and I think Terminator The Sarah Connnor Chronicles should be brought back too~

I'll forever miss Arrested Development and will never get sick of watching the DVDs. Fox's Kitchen Confidential (Bradley Cooper) is another one of my all time favourite shows (maybe because I have worked in the F&B industry all my life). It didn't finish the full first season on tv, but luckily the rest of the eps were finally released (in Australia, I think) allowing me to have the entire series.

Not one word said about.... My Name is Earl... Hmmm I'm still mad at NBC for canning that so Jay Leno can have a prime time show....

FireFly was ok watched it on the Sci-fi Channel a few years ago...

Here's a list of others... Dark Angel, Veronica Mars, Stargate Atlantis, Jericho, Titus, Journey Man, The 4400, Invasion, Joey(I thought it was frickin hilarious), Painkiller Jane,The Crow: Stairway to Heaven, Threshold, The Unit, Boston Public

but the main guy is dead so its impossible

Besides the fact that in Hollywood ,when there is money to be made , nothing is impossible you never 1.actually saw Micheal die 2. even if he did there is a good expanse of time between the end of the events of the final season and the date on his tombstone so they could fill that part in 3. if nothing makes sense and all else fails there is always the prequel.

I think I'd be disappointed if any of my favorite shows was to be reanimated.

Both Cracker* and Prime Suspect tried to do it and although they weren't terrible, neither was up to the level of the originals.
Great shows capture magic in a bottle and trying to recreate that is well nigh impossible...better to look back fondly than risk the almost inevitable disappointment.

Part of the problem is that truly innovative work is not self aware...the folks of Firefly might have thought they were doing good work (and I think they were) but they weren't operating under the pressure of being a cult favorite, so they had no one to please but themselves.

This fondness for looking backwards is what gives us such execrable crap as the new A-Team movie and the upcoming Yogi Bear film and it simultaneously throttles new thinking...why come up with a new idea when it's so easy to mine the past?

Look at shows that managed to survive- SNL and The Simpsons- both arguably great in their heyday, both now long past their prime.
Just like Brett Favre, they keep coming back- even when no one particularly cares.

I fondly remember when I was a South Park fanatic but haven't seen a new episode in probably five years...times changed, I changed and even though I think it was groundbreaking TV, it just doesn't interest me anymore.
Is that how I want to remember Firefly or Arrested Development?
No.

*Not talking about the gawdawful American version that stank up the place for a few episodes...

I can think of a few off the top of my head. Undeclared, Dead Like Me, My Name is Earl, The Tick, Freaks and Geeks, Greg the Bunny, Undergrads, and I strongly believe the King of the Hill had some more life in it. At least it was better than some of the other crap on fox like the Cleveland Show.

I must've misinterpreted what you said (English is not my native tongue). I was simply pointing out the shows I liked, believed was good and had the "potential" (which isn't the right word to use apparently) to remain good in the future. When I read your first post I felt like I was suppose to prove that these shows should've been kept on air but apparently failed to do so. I didn't think that was the poster's original intention.

It's sad to see shows like Jericho, firefly and terminator the sarah connor chronicles getting axed.
these shows had a lot of promise, great scenarios and stories.
It's a shame really
i would have also liked to have seen Battlestar continue its legacy, though the show wasn't exactly axed and didn't end abruptly, still
it ended while there could have been so much more development and expansion to that universe.

Dead Like Me had potential until they did the movie for it- which made a mockery out of everything the show had good in it. The series was quite enjoyable, though.

Jake 2.0 - although Chuck just about fills that gap.

Dark Angel - Dollhouse (A serious Crime to cancel this one) and Better Off Ted

Honorable mention goes to The Class and it goes without saying that Firefly tops the list.

Also was just getting into Caprica - sad to see it get the axe so soon.

Dead Like Me and Arrested Development are two shows that should never have been dropped.

But what do you expect?

Well....it's funny. I don't watch it normally (no sitcoms actually) but when I have seen it, it was pretty funny.

I'd like to see some sort of combination of Prison Break and John Doe so there might be a slight chance that Dominic Purcel would wind up killing himself .Also it doubles the odds that something might make a tiny bit of sense at some point.
