I have a Dell Dimension 2100, that I got last year. Will I be able to put in more ram or Hard Drive? Because I am almost out of hard drive, less than 1GB at the moment, the total is 18.6GB... THAT IS NOT ENOUGH! I also have only 128MB of ram.. and I have problems playing games.

It all comes down to your choice. Do you want to put money into that machine or put your money towards some more up to date machine?

You can certanly get another harddisk and more ram. For not too much money you could add another 40 GB drive and another 128 or even 256 MB SDRAM module.

I got this as a gift from my aunt last year
I hope I can get enough money for a new HD or RAM

Whatever you do, you need to learn about disk fragmentation (http://ecrmguide.webopedia.com/TERM/F/fragmentation.html). With probably only about 5% free space on your hard drive, it is impossible for a disk defragmantation tool to work. I'm guessing you've never defragmented your hard drive, ever.

To defrag, click on:-
My Computer> Right click on your hard driveŠ> Properties> Tools> Defragment. Before you do this though, you'll need to make some space on your drive to leave at least 10% space.

I have an 80GB hard drive in mine, which was $140, and to get a good type of RAM is more then about $80, you can also get a new computer, which normally have winxp, 512 RAM, and you could put the RAM in your current PC into it, and a 40GB or 80GB hard drive, for under $500.

and what do you have on your computer? the most ive been able to use was 13GB, but now Im using 2.60GB.

and clean out the programs that you dont use anymore.

This site (http://www.epinions.com/content_42416901764) has a review of your pc.

As is sais on the site, You can only go upto 512mb sdram @ PC100

And here (http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=dim_harddrive&message.id=53029) the dell guys say the biggest hdd you can get is a 40GB.

Oh yeah and it has onboard video and no AGP so if you want to keep the computer, you have to search for a PCI graphics card.

I think it would be best to sell it and build a new pc because it doesnt look like its a Gaming pc.

I don't know, dude, but to be honest with you, upgrading a Dell is a real pain in the a*s! Why? Because Dell is a proprietary manufacturer, they only ensure compatibility with very few pieces of hardware...therefore here is a tip: take a look at their website and what hardware can be purchased from Dell--for your exact computer--but don't buy it from Dell unless it is actually cheaper from them (it sometimes is, sometimes is not).

No offense, but in my opinion the 2100 is a pretty ancient system worthy of a donation to your little brother or sister. Consider getting an entirely new system.

Do you have any money? Are you saving? Computers have evolved a couple of times since the 2100... :)
